petition is 35,732. Thus, for full verification of the petitions the City Secretary's Office will have to
verify 71,464 signatures. The Texas Election Code does allow for a random sampling method
rather than full verification. The Tarrant County Election Administrator has determined that their
voter registration software system can provide for that type of random sampling once a
percentage of signatures has been determined. Additional research on this method of verification
is still being conducted. Once the most efficient and cost effective methodology has been
-iletermined, the City Council will be advised of what process will be utilized before the petitions
are to be returned to the City.
