AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING AND FIXING A SCHEDULE OF
FARES TO BE CHARGED BY THE FORT WORTH TRANSIT COMPANY
IN THE OPERATION OF ITS BUSES IN THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH; PRESCRIBING REQUIREMENTS OF SERVICE; PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTHr
SECTION 1.
The following rates for service are hereby established as the
fares charged to passengers rendered by the Fort Worth Transit Company
for transportion for passage beginning and ending within the city
limits of the City of Fort Worth.
(a) All persons over the age of twelve (12) years for one
continuous trip of any distance within the city limits, seventeen
cents (170) cash fare or one token. Fort Worth Transit Company
shall provide for sale and delivery to passengers metal tokens
at the rate of ten (10) for One and 50/100 ($1.50) Dollar, each
of which token shall be good for one continuous trip for any distance
within the said City.
(b) For children between the ages of five (5) years and
twelve (12) years for one continuous trip of any distance within the
city limits, six cents (60) cash fare.
(c) Children under five (5) years of age and accompanied by an
attendant shall be transported free of charge.
(d) For students attending public, private or parochial schools
at the grade of elementary or high school, six cents (6#) cash fare for
one continuous trip of any distance within the city limits of the
City of Fort Worth.
(e) All passengers,with the exception of children between the
ages of five (5) and twelve (12) years and students, shall pay an
additional charge of five cents (50) for passage to or from a point
more than six (6) airline miles from the intersection of 7th and
Houston Streets of the City of Fort Worth.
(f) All passengers upon the payment of their fares, either in
cash or in token, are entitled to a transfer to other lines in
accordance mith rules and regulations in existence at the time of passage of
this ordinance.
SECTION 2.
All changes and service operations of the company shall be
made upon application to the City Council.
SECTION 3.
There is an emergency and in the interest of the safety and
convenience of the public this ordinance should go into effect
and become effective at once.
SECTION 4.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
