AN ORDINANCE REFERRING BIDS FOR THE IM PROVEMENT OF VARIOUS STREETS AT 20 LOCATIONS IN THE CITY OF FORT 'NORTH, TEXAS, TO THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPART- MENT FOR A REPORT THEREON WHEREAS, bids for the construction of improvements on Various Streets at 20 Locations in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, having been on the 20th day of June 1960, opened and read, and the following persons had filed bids for the performance of such work or part thereof, to-wit: 1. Texas Bitulithic Company, Fort Worth, Texas 2. Worth Construction Company, Fort Worth, Texas 3. Glade Construction Company, Fort Worth, Texas 4. Lewis & Lewis Construction Company, Fort Worth, Texas 5. R. W. Gibbins Construction Company, Fort North, Texas 6. First of Texas Corp. (Fiscal Agent) NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION I That such Bids be, and the same are hereby referred to the Public Works Department which is directed to cause to be promptly filed with the City Council a report and recommendation thereon. SECTION II That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND^^ GALITY: v City Attorney CITY OF FORT WORTH TEXAS OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER Communication to Mayor and Council No. - 304 July 8, 1960 Honorable Mayor and Re: Assessment Paving of Members of the City Council Various Streets at 20 City of Fort Worth Locations, Project No. 49-84-9 (AP-59-19) (CIP-1-41) Mrs. McKnight and Gentlemen: The City Council on June 3, 1960 adopted Ordinance No. 4296 approving the specifications and giving authority to receive bids for the construction of Assessment Paving at 20 Locations at a total estimated cost of ' $368,269.27 and approved an appropriation request for $ 190,229.77 for the city's part of the cost of the project. On June 20, 1960, bids were re- ceived from Texas Bitulithic Co. , Worth Construction Company, Glade Construction Co. , Lewis & Lewis Construction Co. , and R. W. Gibbins Construction Company, for the construction of the above reference project. A bid was also received from the First of Texas Corporation for the handl- ing of the assessment procedure. It is recommended that an ordinance referring bids to the Public Works Department with instructions to file a report and recommendations with the City Council be adopted.
