UNDER-'rut is KAIbw 'AS THE DAYLIGHT SCHEDULE OF Tin- FROM APRIL THE 18T UNTIL SEPTEVBER THE lot, AND MIDING A EMALTX FOR VIOLAT 02 OF THI§ =jANCT, Be it Ordained by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Fort �,orth: Section 1: It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation owning or operating a store, store room, store house, or doing any kind or character of business, except as hereinafter stated, to keep their place or pl ,.ces of business open for the purpose of transaction of their business or businesses after seven o'clock; P. M. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays of any week between April the let and September the let, under what is known as the Daylight Schedule of Time. Section Z: Section 1 of this Ordinance shall not apply to drug stores, garages, newspapers, public eating houses, places of amusement, cold drink dealers, Cigar and fruit stands, and manufacturers •-orking on goverment contracts. Section 3: Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the previsions of this ordinance shall be 1 deemed gallty of a.+misdameanor, and shall upon c;ouvictiou ti;uroof, be fined iw u mum not less than Ten ;Dollars (910.00) nor more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars, and each of any of the terms of this ordinance shall be deemed a separate offense. Section 4: The purpose of this ordinance is to give the people of the City of Fort Worth, and especially those engaged as employees, an opportunity to advance the common interest of the country In the cultivation of war gardens, which gardens are now of greatest importance as a means for conserving those commodities -so greatly needed by the American soldiers and the soldiers of the allies of America in Europe, and the courts will so construe this ordinance. Section 5; This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage W and during the full period of the war between the United States and Germany. I hereby certify that the above and foregoing Ordinance was duly presented and unanimously passed and adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Fort _'orth, Texas, at a regular session of said Board held Tuesday May 28th$ A.P.1918.
