HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1333 a ORDINANCE NO AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1209 BEING AF ORDINANCE REQUIRING VEHICLES TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE APPROACH- ING OR 1NTERING CERTAIN STREETS AND THOR- OUGHFARIS AND THE AMENDED ORDINANCE PRO- VIDING HAT ALL VEHICLES SHALL COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE APPROACHING OR ENTER- ING ANY STREET, ALLEY OR THOROUGHFARE WHERE A STOP SIGN OR SIGNAL HAS BEEN PLACED, PROHIBITING ANYONE EXCEPT MEMBERS OF THE POLICE rFARTMENT FROM PLACING STOP SIGNALS OR OTBER SIGNS IN STREETS OR THOROUGHFARES OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. BE IT 0 DAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH: SECTION I. That Ordinan e No. 1209 passed and adopted by the City Council on the 28 h day of December, A. D. 1926, be and the same is hereb amended and after being so amended to read as follows: Th8LO the driver of any vehicle on the streets or thor- oughfares of the City of Fort Worth shall bring the vehicle that he or she is driving to a full and complete stop when approaching the intersection of any street or thoroughfare where a stop sign signal or cther device has been placed indicating that said vehicle should stop before passing over the curb lin of such intersecting street or other thoroughfare and that such full and complete stop shall be made within twenty feet of the street or thoroughfare being approached. a k SECTION II. It shall be unlawful for any person except a member of the Police Department or someone acting under the direction of the Police Department to place any stop sign or signal of any kind upon streets, alleys or thoroughfares of the City of Fort Worth, (A qk, Wa' - V CTI ON III. This ordinance is hereby declare Ito bd `�ati of all of the provisions of Ordinances regulating and governing vehicular traffic upon and along the streets of the City of Fort Worth, and shall not be held to repeal any of the pro- visions of any of such Ordinances except in those instances where such Ordinances are in direct conflict with the express provisions of this Ordinance. SECTION IV. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be convicted of a fine not to exceed One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars. SECTION V. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the date of its passage and publication as required by law. APPROVED AS TO FORM: City Attorney. I, I. L.
