AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT EDERVILLE ROAD FROM
SANDY LANE EAST TO ENOCH DRIVE AND ENOCH DRIVE
FROM EDERVILLE ROAD SOUTH TO AN UNNAMED EAST-
WEST STREET BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED;
PROVIDING THAT THE TEN FOOT EASEMENT ADJACENT
TO THE SOUTH LINE OF EDERVILLE ROAD ALONG THE
NORTH LINE OF BLOCK 2, CAROL OAKS NORTH ADDITION
TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS,
AND THE FIFTEEN FOOT EASEMENT FROM EDERVILLE
ROAD SOUTH TO CAROL OAKS DRIVE ACROSS SAID BLOCK
2 OF CAROL OAKS NORTH ADDITION BE CLOSED AND VA-
CATED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTER-
EST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; RE-
PEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That Ederville Road from Sandy Lane east to Enoch Drive
and Enoch Drive from Ederville Road south to an unnamed east-
west street be and the same are hereby closed, abandoned and
permanently vacated as streets or public thoroughfares of
any kind or character whatever, save and except that ease-
ments are reserved for any existing drainage and public utili-
ties.
SECTION 2.
That the ten foot easement adjacent to the south line
of Ederville Road along the north line of Block 2, Carol Oaks
North Addition, and the fifteen foot easement from Ederville
Road south to Carol Oaks Drive across Block 2 of said Carol
Oaks North Addition be and the same are hereby extinguished,
vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as easements for
drainage and utilities. ,
SECTION 3.
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee
to the land in said streets and easements above described
is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner
of the fee as provided by law.
SECTION 4.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.

Gordon S. Swift on behalf of Robert S. Folsom, owner of all abutting property,
t,4_ has requested that the City vacate Ederville Road a variable width of from 70 ft
to 60 ft. and a length of approximately 1302 feet from Sandy Lane east to Enoch
Drive; and to vacate Enoch Drive in the 1400 block a width of 30 feet and a len-
gth of 440 feet from Ederville Road south to an un-named east-West street; and
to vacate an easement 10 feet in width and approximately 1302 feet in length add -
cent to the south line of Ederville Road along the north line of Block 2; and to
vacate an easement 15 feet in width and 490 feet in length from Ederville Road
south to Carol Oaks Drive across Block 2, Carol Oaks North Addition as shown on
the attached map.
The subject easements and streets, acquired by dedication, are within a vacant
area. The easements are not being used and the streets are not open. City
departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and recom-
mend that subject right-of-way be vacated provided utility and drainage easement
are retained or dedicated where required; adequate right-oil-way is retained east
of Sandy Lane and south of the Turnpike for a future on-ramp; additional right-
of-way to a width of 64 feet is dedicated for Carol Oaks Drive from Sandy Lane
eastward through the Applicant's property to the east line (Enoch Drive) ; Carol
Oaks Drive is renamed as Ederville Road; and vacated right-of-sway is replatted
with adjoining property.
A satisfactory replat has been submitted to the City staff.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption of
ordinances vacating subject right-of-way as requested and changing the name of
Carol Oaks Drive to Ederville Road.
Recommendation
It is recommended that ordinances be adopted vacating subject right-of-way and
changing the name of Carol Oaks Drive to Ederville Road as recommended by the
City Plan Commission.
