AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS
OF THE CITY OF FORT''WORTH OF THE QUESTION "SHALL A COMMISSION BE ff4le
TO FRAME A NEW CHARTER", AND PROVIDING FOR THE TIMID' AND PLACE
OF HOLDING AN ELECTION FOR SUBMITTING SAID QUESTION AND PRESCRIBING THE
FORM OF BALLOT THEREFOR AND PROVIDING FOR THE PROPER RETURNS OF SXID
ELECTION.
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth is an incorporated City having
more than five thousand inhabitants and,
WHEREAS, a petition signed by ten per cent of the qualified voters
of said City, has been presented to the Board. of Commissioners of the
City of Fort Wort#, now therefore.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH.
Section 1.- That election be and the same is hereby called for
the Z2, day of (2�,r"t/ A. D. 19LC-, at which time all
qualified voters res ing in the City of Fort Worth, and duly qualified
under the laws of the State of Texas, shall be al. owed to vote upon the
question "Shall a Commission be Chosen to Frame a New Charter"
That the City Secretary shall prepare proper ballots and stamp
the same "Official Ballots", on which shall be printed the following:
1.
"For a Commission to Frame a new Charter"
II.
"Against a Commission to Frame a New Charter."
The City Secretary shall furnish form of ballots, together with
any other forms or blahks that may be necessary to hold said election-
and make returns of same, which said blank forms shall be furnished
to the judges of the election as hereinafter named, and said Judges
shall hold said election and make due returns thereof to the Board of
Commissioners of the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the City
Charter and election laws of the State of Texas, in so far as they

may be applicable.
The City Secretary shall, inpreparing said ballots, so arrange
the same that the z"x names of the candidateskor charter commissioners
may he placed thereon, and the twenty five candidates receiving the
highest number of votes respectively, shall constitute the charter com-
mission, and all persons desiring to have their names placed on the
ticket for charter commissioner, shall file their names with the City
Secretary on or before the ^ L day of J 1914.&,/- �•.
The voters shall vote for or against the charter proposition
by striking from the ballot the proposition that' do not wish to vote
in favor of, and on the question of commissioners shall strike from
the list those they do not wish to vote in favor of.
Section 2.- That the following judges of election shall hold
said election at the following places, to-wit:
First Ward: Voting place -- pirq Hall .. d Snd Commerce Sts.

Second Ward: Voting Place-- West Basement of Court House.
C. M. Templeton, Presiding Judge.
Third Ward: Voting Place -- No. 3 Fire Hall, lfith & Jones Sts.
J. Jacobs, Presiding Judge.
Fourth Ward: Voting Place--Cit Hall.
B. C. Rhome Sr. Presi ing Judge.
Fifth Ward: Voting Place 4- Fire Hall -- Tucker & Bryan Sts.
W. Holt Harris, Presiding Judge.
Sixth Ward: Voting Place -- Fire Hall -- Peter Smith and Fulton Sts.
V. Parker, Presiding Judge.
Sevcnth Ward: Votinngg Place -- Police Station -- Schlater & Missouri Ave.
T. J. Haialip, Presiding Judge.
Eighth Ward: Voting Place -- Fire Hall Bellevue & Lipscomb Sts.
John M. Adams Presiding Judge.
Ninth Ward Doting Place -- East Basement of the Court House.
George Grant, Presiding Judge.
Tenth Ward: Voting Place --m Fire Hall.
H. L. Calhoun, Presiding Judge.
Eleventh Ward- Voting Place-- Fire Hall-- N. 12th and N. Main Sts.
H. 1. Mullholrand, Presiding Judge.
Twelfth Ward: Voting Place -- Moody Realestate Office.
J. W. Shirley, Presiding Judge.
Thirteenth Ward: VotingPlave -- Fire Hall.
R. L. Dunivan , Presiding Judge.

That the polls shall be kept open from 8 a. m. to 7 o'clock p. m.
and that due returns be made, showing the number of votes cast for,
and the number of votes cast against said propositions, to the Board
of Commissioners of the City of Fort Worth within five days after said
election.
That the ;Mayor issue his proclimation, giving notice of the call—
ing of said election in accordance herewith, and that said notice be
published in the official news paper of the City of Fort Worth for at
least ten days provious to the day of said election.
Section 3.— That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and publication as required by law.
I hereby certify that the above and fore going ordinance was duty
presented and unanimously passed and adopidd by the Board of Comm—
issioners of the City of Fort Worth ata session of said Board held
Saturday October 17th,1914.
