HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 7964ORDINANCE NO. ?q64 AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING CRADDOCK STREET IN THE 800 BLOCK ADJACENT TO BLOCKS 2 AND 3, L. J. HAWKINS ADDITION, A WIDTH OF 43 FEET FROM THE SOUTH RIGHT -OF -WAY LINE OF FORMER COOPER STREET; VACATED BY CITY ORDINANCE NO. 2920, TO THE NORTH RIGHT -OF -WAY LINE OF WEST VICKERY BOULEVARD; RETAINING EASEMENTS FOR EXISTING AND PROSPECTIVE UTILITIES; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF FEE OF SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. SECTION 1. That Craddock Street in the 800 Block adjacent to Blocks 2 and 3, L. J. Hawkins Addition, a width of 43 feet from the south right -of -way line of former Cooper Street, vacated by City Ordinance No. 2920, to the north right -of -way line of West Vickery Boulevard be and the same is hereby vacated, abandoned and permanently closed as right -of -way for street purposes. SECTION 2. That the fee to the land in the above described street right -of -way is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owners as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements are retained for any and all existing and prospective utilities. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and it is so ordained. Hawkins PAGE OBINSON NUMBER Blocks 2 & 3 800 Block Craddock Street 1 8/28/79 PZ -925 'Of (V- 78 -77) Arnold Blaylock and Fred Johnson, owners of all abutting property, have requested that the City vacate Craddock Street in the 800 Block adjacent to Blocks 2 & 3, L.J. Hawkins Addition, a width of 43' from the south right -of -way line of former Cooper Street, vacated by City Ordinance 42920, to the north right -of -way line of West Vickery Boulevard as shown on the attached map. The subject street, acquired by dedication, is open on the ground, but not improved, and contains overhead electrical utilities along its eastern right -of -way line. Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objections to this request provided the vacated right -of -way is replatted with the abutting property and utility easements retained as required. A satisfactory replat, with the required utility easements, has been submitted. The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the subject street right -of -way be vacated as requested. Recommendation It is recommended that the subject street right -of -way be vacated as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
