AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEX-
ING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED
IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORD-
ANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER =II
OF THE CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL CF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of
Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made
an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in
Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as followsr
Being a tract of land about 8 miles south of the
County Courthouse in Tarrant County, Texas, and lying
in the A. Rhodes, G. Herrera, M. P. Scott, J. J. Scott,
and G. Hamilton Surveys.
BEGINNING at a point in the present City of Fort
Worth City Limit Line at its intersection with the
west line of U. S. Highway No. 81, west of the south-
west corner of the G. W. Main Survey, Abstract 10941
THENCE south along the west line of U. S. Highway
No. 81 to its intersection with the south line of
County Road No. 1078;
THENCE west along the south line of County Road
No. 1078 to its intersection with the east right-of-
way line of the M. K. and T. RR.;
THENCE northerly along the east right-of-aay line
of the M. K. and T. RR to its intersection with the
present City of Fort Worth City Limit Line, in the
northerly line of the Texas Electric Service Company
right-of-fray in the G. Herrara Survey;
THENCE southeasterly, south and east along the
present City of Fort Worth City Limit Line to the
Place of beginning and containing approximately
1.6 square miles.
SECTION 2.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in The Fort'Worth Press,
a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the
provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect
upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days
from the date of its publication, as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
Presented and passed on first reading Friday, the /6 day of
1958.
