SUBJECT: Proposed Council-inated Zoning Changes for the

The October 16 City Council agenda contains an M&C to initiate the zoning process for portions
of the John T. White Neighborhood, north • Interstate 30 and east of East Loop 820. The attached
!t P• presentation shows the future land use from the 2007 Comprehensive Plan, the current
zoning, and the proposed zoning. Councilmember Scarth would like to initiate rezoning of these are
in response to neighborhood concerns. I
The John T. White Neighborhood Association held informational meetings on September 6 and 13,
2007, which were attended by Councilmember Scarth, approximately 65 residents and staff At these
meetings, the residents expressed support for the proposed zoning changes.
The public hearings for the rezoning of these properties would take place at the November 14'h
Zoning Commission meeting and on December 4th at the City Council meeting.
