Vacation of the alley will permit more advantageous development of the site for industrial uses. Private utility companies, the Public Works, Water, Traffic Engineering and Planning Departments have reviewed the request and do not object to the vaca- tion. Texas Electric Service Company has requested, however, that the alley be retained as an easement for existing facilities, and the Public Works De- partment requested that five feet be dedicated along Uvalde Street and Arlington Avenue for needed future widening of the streets. The City Plan Commission has reviewed the request of Novikoff, Inc. and recom- mends adoption of the ordinance that has been prepared vacating the alley as requested, subject to replatting block 24, Graham Park Addition, retaining the full width of the alley as an easement for Texas Electric Service Company, and dedicating five feet of right-of-way along Uvalde Street and Arlington Avenue. A replat of block 24 has been filed with the City Planning Department dedicat- ing the additional right-of-way as requested. JLB:GA attach CI ROf ICIAL RECORD SRREX18T EC L.
