Sf,L L AN ORDINANCE MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS; PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 0.071 SQUARE MILES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS; AND NAMING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, wherein all Interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the territory hereinafter described, was held at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of Fort Worth, Texas, on the 1st day of August, 1966, which date is not more than twenty (20) nor less than ten (10) days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and in the hereinafter described territory on the 13th day of July, 1966, which date is not more than twenty (20) nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearing; and WHEREAS, the population of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, is in excess of 391,000 inhabitants; and WHEREAS, the corporate area of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, was 179.860 square miles on January 1, 1966; and WHEREAS, the hereinafter described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Fort Worth, Texas; and WHEREAS, the hereinafter described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Fort Worth, Texas; and WHEREAS, property owners have petitioned for annexation of a portion of the area hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described contains approximately 0.071 square miles, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Fort Worth, Texas, is hereby added to and annexed to the City of Fort Worth, Texas and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the present boundary limits of said City, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, to wit: Being a part of the Robert Bissett Survey, Abstract No. 193, Tarrant County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point in the south line of said Bissett Survey and in the east line of Roaring Springs Road, said point being 901 feet easterly from the southwest corner of said survey; Thence northerly with the easterly line of Roaring Springs Road with the following courses and distances: N 0°51' E, 40.0 feet; N 1°42'E, 1041.0 feet, to the beginning of a curve to the left with a radius of 766.2 feet, and then along said curxe_to_,tte left for a distance of 396.9 feet, to the end of said curve; and then N 27056' W, 556.2 feet to the intersection of said line with the present City of Fort Worth City Limit Line in Volder Avenue. Thence east along the present City of Fort Worth City Limit Line in Volder Avenue 870 feet, more or less, to a point 10.62 feet south from the Southeast corner of Lot 17, Block 6, Westover Acres Addition. Thence north along the present City of Fort Worth City Limit Line, to and along the east line of said Lot 17, in all 125.62 feet to its northeast corner. t + - 1l ' z Thence east along the present City of fort Worth City Limit Line 700 feet, more or less, to a point in the west line of Burton Hill Road, the present City of Fort Worth City Limit Line 15 feet south from the southeast corner of Lot 15, Block 6, Wettaver Acres Addition. Thence south along the present City of Fort Worth City Limit Line in the west line of Burton Hill Road 645 feet, more or less, and south 52020' E, 300 feet and south 57013' East 300 feet and south 62005' east 123.2 feet to the most northerly northeast corner of a tract described in Volume 2220, Page 79 of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas. Thence continuing with the boundary line of said tract as described in said Volume 2220, Page 79, S 16026' W, 237.8 feet and N 71°14' W, 230.0 feet to a re-entrant corner of said tract; Thence in a northwesterly direction for a distance of approximately 1280 feet to an angle point on the boundary line between said tract described in Volume 2220, Page 79, and the said 67-acre tract described in Volume 1910, Page 229, of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, said point being south, 456.2 feet and S 66°38' W, 298.7 feet from the said easterly northeast corner of said 67-acre tract and the north corner of said tract described in Volume 2220, Page 79 of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas; Thence along the southeasterly line of said 67-acre tract and along the southeast bank of a branch with the following courses and distances: S 39049' W, 259.0 feet; S 22059' W, 130.6 feet; S 26056' W, 102.2 feet; S 34026' W, 180.0 feet; S 47°18' E, 89.9 feet; S 11°40' W, 54.5 feet; S 54011' W, 110.0 feet; S 2008' E, 129.7 feet; S 75027' W, 135.2 feet; S 3026' W, 69.6 feet; and S 9050' W, 136.2 feet to the southeast corner of said 67-acre tract, a point in the south line of said Bissett Survey; Thence N 89022' W along the said survey line, 57.1 feet to the place of beginning, and containing approximately 0.071 square miles of land. SECTION 2. The above described territory and the area annexed shall be a part of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rinhts and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Fort Worth, Texas. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every prior ordinance in conflict herewith, but as to all other ordinances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict herewith this ordinance shall be and is hereby made cumulative. SECTION 4. If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this ordinance is for any reason held void or unconstitutionali by a court of competent Jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections, subsections, clauses, sentences, phrases, or words except as the same are inseparable from and indispensable to the remaining portions of the ordinance. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage on first reading and publication and its passage on second reading as provided for in Section 40 of Chapter XXVIII of the Charter of the City of Fort Worth and it is so ordained.il Passed and 8pproved this the r s���, .. day of AJ44 1,a 1966.
