AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT SOUTH WILLIAMS STREET BETWEEN EAST VICKERY BOULEVARD AND EAST DAGGETT AVENUE BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVID- ING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That South Williams Street between East Vickery Boule- vard and East Daggett Avenue be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or public thorough- fare of any kind or character whatever, save and except that easements are reserved for any and all existing utilities. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said street is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. NUMBER South Williams Street 1 RFJD 12/2/68 PZ-305 for MAHONEY HA 1131 Keeton Industries, Inc. , owner of all adjoining property has requested the City to vacate South Williams Street between East Vickery Boulevard and East Daggett Avenue as shown on the attached map. The street is open on the ground but is not paved. Abandonment of the street will permit replatting of the land with the adjoining property to provide additional building area. The City Departments and Private Utility Companies have reviewed this request and have no objection to the proposed vacation, provided the street is replatted with the adjoining properties and easements are retained for existing utilities. The City Plan Commission has reviewed the request and recommends adoption of an ordinance vacating the public right-of-way as requested, subject to the applicant's replatting the subject right-of-way with adjoining proper- ties and retaining easements for existing utilities. The applicant has submitted a replat which incorporates the subject right-of-way with the adjoining properties and dedicates the easements as requested. Recommendation It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted closing the subject street as recommended by the City Plan Commission. HDM:ms ,attach.
