AN ORDINANCE DECLARING CERTAIN FINDINGS; PROVIDING
FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF
CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 0.116 SQUARE MILE
OF LAND, WHICH TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND AD-
JOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT THE TERRITORY
ANNEXED SHALL BEAR ITS PRO RATA PART OF TAXES; PRO-
VIDING THAT THE INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL HAVE ALL
THE PRIVILEGES OF ALL CITIZENS OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS;
PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL AMEND EVERY
PRIOR ORDINANCE IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING
THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE CUMULATIVE OF ALL PRIOR
ORDINANCES NOT IN DIRECT CONFLICT; PROVIDING A SEVER-
ABILITY CLAUSE AND NAMING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of
Fort Worth, Texas, wherein all interested persons were provided with an op-
portunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the territory hereinafter
described, was held in the City Council Charmer in the City Hall of Fort Worth,
Texas, on the 9th day of August, 1971, which date is not more than twenty (20)
nor less than ten (10) days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings;
and
WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published prior thereto
in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Fort Worth, Texas,
and in the hereinafter described territory on the 27th day of July, 1971,
which date was not more than twenty (20) and not less than ten (10) days prior
to the date of the opening of such public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, is in
excess of 393,000 inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, the corporate area of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, was
212.916 square miles on the 1st day of January, 1971; and
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described territory lies within the ex-
clusive extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Fort Worth, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described territory contains approximately
0.116 square mile of land; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH:
SECTION I
THAT the following described land and territory lying adjacent to
and adjoining the City of Fort Worth, Texas, is hereby added to and annexed
to the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and said territory hereinafter described
shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Fort
Worth, Texas, and the boundary limits of said City, at the various points
contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as
to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Worth,
Texas, to wit:
BEING a tract of land situated approximately eight miles southwest from the
Courthouse of Tarrant County, Texas, and in the S.A. & M.G. Railroad Company
Survey, Abstract No. 1463, and the James W. Williams Survey, Abstract No. 1599,
and being more completely described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point for corner in the present city limit line of the City
of Fort Worth, said point for corner being located in City of Fort Worth Ordi-
nance No. 6033 as being in the "north line of said S.A. & M.G. Railroad Company
Survey 105 feet South 89'-58' East from its northwest corner, same being 105
feet South 89-58' East from the most Easterly Northeast corner of said
Williams Survey, said point being in the proposed Easterly R.O.W. of McCart
Street";
THENCE along and with the present city limit line of the City of Fort
Worth as established by Fort Worth Ordinance No. 6033:
"THENCE Southerly along a curve to the left having a radius of 536.2
feet, along said proposed East R.O.W. 355 feet to the end of curve;
"THENCE South 1' 08' West along the proposed East R.O.W. Line of McCart
Street 340.0 feet to an iron for corner;
"THENCE Westerly, along a curve to the Left having a radius of 505.3 feet,
a distance of 329.0 feet to the end of this curve and the beginning of
another curve, this one to the Right, having a radius of 618.16 feet;
"THENCE along said curve to the Right 593.0 feet to the end of curve;
"THENCE North 70'49' West 658.85 feet to an iron pin for corner;
"THENCE Southwesterly along a curve to the Right, having a radius of
517.95 feet a distance of 144.3 feet to the end of curve",
said end of curve being marked by an iron pin located in the easterly line of
Campana Street according to the plat of Wedgwood Addition, as recorded in
Volume 388-50, Page 94, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas;
THENCE South 32' 49' East a distance of 160.0 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE along and with a curve to the right having a radius of 92.77 feet
a distance of 95.29 feet to a point for corner;

THENCE South 70' 49' East a distance of 483.34 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE along and with a curve to the left having a radius of 803.16 feet
a distance of 770.5 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE along and with a curve to the right having a radius of 311.14 feet
a distance of 270.62 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE South 88' 52' East a distance of 50.0 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE North 1' 08' East a distance of 529.0 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE northerly along and with a curve to the right having a radius of
741.1 feet a distance of 352.8 feet to a point for corner at the intersection
of said curve and the common line between the J. M. B. Smith Survey, Abstract
No. 1412, and the S.A. & M.G. Railroad Company Survey, Abstract No. 1463, said
point for corner being in the present Fort Worth city limit line;
THENCE North 89' 58' West along and with the present Fort Worth city limit
line a distance of 55.8 feet to the place of beginning, and containing approxi-
mately 0.116 square mile.
SECTION II
THAT the above described territory and the area annexed shall be a
part of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the property so added hereby shall
bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Fort Worth, Texas,
and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and priv-
ileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, reso-
lutions and regulations of the City of Fort Worth, Texas.
SECTION III
THAT this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every prior ordi-
nance in conflict herewith, but as to all other ordinances or sections of
ordinances not in conflict herewith this ordinance shall be and is hereby
made cumulative.
SECTION IV
THAT it is hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council
that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordi-
nance are severable, and if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section
of this ordinance shall be declared void, ineffective, or unconstitutional by
the valid judgment or final decree of a court of competent jurisdiction, such
unconstitutionality shall not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses,

sentences, paragraphs and sections hereof, since the same would have been
enacted by the City Council without the incorporation herein of any such
void, ineffective or unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph
or section.
SECTION V
THAT this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of its passage on first reading and publication and its
passage on second reading as provided for in Section 40 of Chapter XXVIII
of the Charter of the City of Fort Worth and it is so ordained.

The Essex Company, developers of Wedgwood, have submitted a petition and
supporting documents requesting annexation of a tract containing 7.4 acres.
The subject area lies south and east of the Wedgwood Addition, as shown
on the attached map.
City Plan Commission Recommendation
The preliminary plat (S-71-7) of that area south of Wedgwood Addition was
approved by the Plan Commission on May 26, 1971, subject to annexation
and zoning. The final plat (Sf-71-13) on the same area was recently
recorded (Vol. 388-65, page 43).
Municipal Services
The City of Fort Worth can provide all municipal services to this property
under the terms of the standard development policies.

Recommendation
i
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City staff to ini-
tiate annexation proceedings on the subject area in accordance with the
attached timetable.
