HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 6554 ORDINANCE NO. 6�3# a AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE PORTION OF CAMP BOWIE BOULEVARD RIGHT—OF—WAY ABUTTING THE NORTH LOT LINE OF LOT "A", RIDGLEA LODGE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the portion of Camp Bowie Boulevard right-of-way abutting the north lot line of Lot "A", Ridglea Lodge Addi- tion to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said street is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY: 1. F,,Xequested the City to vacate. that portion of Camp Bowie Boulevard right- REM of-way abutting its north lot line which is •126 feet long and 19 feet wide, as shown on the attached map. The subject right-of-way, acquired i by dedication, is not open on the ground. The existing 165 feet right-of- way (Camp Bowie - 125' , Service Street - 40') is greater than is needed and the remaining 146 feet is ample right-of-way for widening of Camp Bowie Boulevard when and if needed at some future time. City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and have no objection to this vacation, provided the applicant replats and retains the vacated right-of-sway as a utility easement. The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption of an ordinance vacating the public right-of-sway as requested. The appli- cant has submitted a satisfactory replat. Recommendation It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating the subject right- of-way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
