HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 8879INFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS To the Mayor and Members of the City Council October 2, 2007 Page 1 of 1 SUBJECT: Proposed Council - Initiated Zoning Changes for the Candleridge Neighborhood The October 9 City Council agenda contains an M &C to initiate the zoning process for portions of the Candleridge Neighborhood, south of Altamesa Boulevard and predominantly east of Hulen Boulevard. The attached PowerPoint presentation shows future land use as outlined in the 2007 Comprehensive Plan, as well as the current and proposed zoning. Councilme nber Jordan would like to initiate rezoning of these areas in response to neighborhood concerns. The Candleridge Neighborhood Association held an informational meeting on September 17, 2007, which was attended by Councilmember Jordan, approximately 200 residents, and staff At this meeting, the residents expressed full support for the proposed zoning changes. Public hearings for the rezoning of these properties would be November 14 at the Zoning Commission meeting and at the City Council meeting of December 4.
