SUBJECT: Proposed Council- Initiated Zoning Changes for the
Brentwood -Oak Hills Neighborhood
Due to the late start of the scheduled Council meeting on August 9, staff has prepared this
Informal Report in lieu of a Pre - Council presentation. An action item to initiate the zoning change
for portions of the Brentwood -Oak Hills Neighborhood, south of Interstate 30 and west of Loop
820, has been scheduled of Council consideration on August 14. For your reference, the
attached PowerPoint presentation shows the future land use from the 2007 Comprehensive Plan,
the current zoning, and the proposed zoning. Councilmember Scarth would like to initiate
rezoning of these areas, in response to neighborhood concerns.
The Brentwood -Oak Hills neighborhood association held an informational meeting on July 26,
2007, which was attended by Councilmember Scarth, approximately 30 residents, and staff. At
this meeting, the residents expressed full support for the proposed zoning changes.
The public hearings for the rezoning of these properties would be September 12 at the Zoning
Commission meeting and October 2 at the City Council meeting.
hould you have any questions, please contact Dana Burghdoff, Deputy Planning and
Development Director, at 817 - 392 -8018.
