ORDINANCE No.
AN ORDINANCE granting the St Louis South-
western Railway Company of Texas the right to lay
tracks and lines of railway in, along and over por-
tions of Park Street, Williams Street, Peach Street,-
Bluff Street, Belknap Street, eatherford Street, First
Street, Second Street, Third Street and Fourth Street
all within the corporate limits of the city of Fort
~North, in Tarrant county, Texas.
BE IT ORDAINED By the Board of Commissioners of the City of
. • Fort Worth, Texas:
Section 1: Whereas, the St Louis Southwestern
Railway Company of Texas desires and proposes to build, extend
and construct a line of railway tracks from the Cold Sprint7s
Road in a southerly direction, and west of the main line tracks
of the Texas & Pacific Railway Company and the Fort Worth &
Denver City Railway Company, to the south line of Fourth Street
in the City of Fort Worth,and thense in a southwesterly direct-
ion to certain property owned by it in that vicinity:
Now, Thereforfe, Be It Ordained that the St Louis
Southwestern Railway Company of 'texas is hereby granted the
right to build, construct, maintain and operate within He witty
of Fort Worth, in Tarrant county, Texas, not exceeding two
tracks and lines of railway in, along and over those portions
of Park Street, Williams Street, Peach Street, Bluff Street,
Belknap Street, Weatherford Street, First Street, Second Street

and 'third Street, as shall be included within a strip of land

fifty feet in width, measured eastwardly and westwardly, the
easterly line of said fifty foot strip crossir:• t'-e aforemen-
tioned streets, as follows:
Beginning at the north line of Park Street, 159.6 feet .
measured at right angles from the main line track of the Texas &
Pacific Railway Company and 49.5 feet from the main line track
of the Fort Worth & Denver City Railway Company;
Thence extending southwardly so that the east line of
said fifty foot strip will dross the north line of Williams Street
at 108.6 feet westwardly from said main line track of the Texas &
Pacific Railway Company and 45.5 feet westerly from the main line
track of the Fort Worth & Denver City Railway Company;
Thence extending southwardly so that the east line of
said fifty foot -strip will cross the north line of Peach Street
at 7(2.6 feet westerly from the mainline track of the Texas &
Pacific Railway Company and 34.8 feet westerly from the main line
track of the Fort Worth & Denvver City Railway Company, measured
at right angles;
Thence extending southwardly so that the said east edge
or line of said fifty foot strip will cross the north line of Bluff

Pacific Railway Company and 22.2 feet westerly from the main line
track of the Fort Worth & Denver City Railway Company, measured at
right angles;
Thence extending southwardly so that the east edge or line
of said fifty foot strip will cross the north line of Belknap Streit
at 50.5 feet westerly from the main line track of the Texas &
Pacific Railway Qou�pany and 22. 1 feet westerly from the main
line track of the Fort Worth & Denver City Railway Company,
measured at right anghes;
Thence continuing southwardly so that the east edge
or line of said fifty foot strip will cross the north lines of
Weatherford Street, First Street, Second Street and Third
Street, at a point 60 feet westerly from the main line track
of the Texas & Pacific Railway Company and 22. 1 feet westerly
from the main line track of The Fort Worth & Denver City Rail-
way Company, measured at right angles;

Thence continuing in a southwesterly direction so
that the east edge or line of said fifty foot strip shall and

will cross Fourth Street at such point as may be found to be
practical and east of the west line of Nichols Street as same
is extended to the south line of Fourth Street.
The western line or edge of said fifty foot strip
crossing -the streets as herein provided, is measured fifty
feet westerly find at right angles from the said eastern line,
and extends parallel with same from the north line of Fourth

Section 2: The said S& Louis Southwestern Rail-
way Company of Texas shall have the right, as provided, to
build, construct, maintain and operate a line- of railway and
tracks over those portions of said streets designated within the
said fifty foot strip, and shall cross said streets at such grades

as may be approved. by the city engineer and the Board of Commis-
sioners of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the la,rina and con-
struction of said lines of railway and tracks over those portions
of the streets hereinbefore designated and named, shall be under
the supervision of the city engineer and the Board of Commission-
ers of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and subject to their ap-
proval.
Section 3: It is, however, expressly provided that
the crossing of said railway tracks and-lines at Fourt Street
shall not be at grade but shall be an overhead crossing, and the.
amount of clearance and the kind and character of such overhead
crossing shall be subject to the approval of the city engineer
and the Board of Commissioners of the City of Fort Worth, Texas.
+ Section 4: The right of the saidcity of Fort Worth
to extend any of the streets named in this ordinance east and west
across the lines and tracks of the Railway Company is hereby re-
served, and in case of such extension the ssaid St Louis South-
western Railway. Company of lexas shall Provide suitable crossings

therefor over that portion of the street covered by the franchise
herein granted.
