AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THAT PORTION OF BLEPINS
STREET BETWEEN NOBLE STREET AND GRAPEWOOD STREET
BE ABANDONED, VACATED AND CLOSED, AND EXCEPTING THE
RIGHTS OF ALL PUBLIC UTILITIES HERETOFORE ACQUIRED
IN SAID PORTION OF SAID STREET, AND PROVIDING FOR THE
REVERSION OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND, AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING THAT
THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IM1EDIATELY.
WHEREAS, the Fort Worth Independent School District owns all of
the property abutting on that portion of Blevins Street between Noble Street
and Grapewood Street, a portion of which is used for school buildings, and
the portion across said Blevins Street being used for playgrounds and other
public purposes, and that it 1s necessary for children attending the said
school to travel from one portion of the said school grounds to the other
across said street; and,
iEDMEAS, such street constitutes a menace to the public, and the
Interest of the public safety requires the closing and vacating of such street;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION I.
That Blevins Street between Noble Street And Grapewood Street be and
the same.is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or
public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever.
SECTION II.
That the rights of all public utilities for the purpose of con-
structing and maintaining service lines shall not be disturbed, destroyed,
revoked or abrogated by any of the provisions of this ordinance, but said
rights as above set out shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION III.
That the fee to the land in said street shall revert as provided by
law.
SECTION IV.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION V.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage.
