HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1954 ORDINANCE NO. }�^q AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1792, PRESCRIBING RATES TO BE CHARGED CONSUMERS OF WATER SUP- PLIED BY THE CITY OF FORT WORTH ;HATER WORKS, AND IN ADDITION THERETO, PRO- VIDING FOR '+NATER RATES DURING THE BILL- ING DATES FOR THE MONTHS OF MAY, JUNE, JULY, AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER, 1937, SUCH RATES BEING APPLICABLE ONLY TO RESI- DENTIAL CONSUMERS USING 'WATER FOR RESI- DENTIAL AND IRRIGATIONAL PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, 'TEXAS: SECTION I. That Subsection 1 of Ordinance No. 1792 be and the 'same is hereby amended and, after being so amended, it shall read as follows: The following rates per month, or frac- tion thereof, shall be the rates charged for water furnished to consumers within the cor- porate limits of the City of Fort Worth until revised by the City Council of said city by subsequent ordinance, to wit: Cubic Feet Rate First 266-2/3 Cu. Ft. $.75 Minimum Next 49,733-1/3 Cu. Ft. .18 per 100 cubic feet It 40,000 Cu. Ft. .15 " " It It 43,333-1/3 Cu. Ft. .12 " it it to 133,333-1/3 Cu. Ft. .09 " it It It 400,000 Cu. Ft. .0525 per 100 cubic feet The above rates shall be the rates charged for water furnished to all persons, firms and corporations, provided, however, that during the billing periods beginning May 1, 1937, and ending September 30, 1937, residential consumers using water for residential and irrigational purposes shall be billed during said billing periods as follows: The average water consumption of the months of December, 1936, January, February and March, 1937, shall be used as a basis and billed at the regular scheduled rates as set out above, and all water consumed in excess of the above average shall be billed at one-half (1/2) of the scheduled rates. SECTION II. Under the terms of this ordinance "residential consumers of water for residential and irrigational purposes" is meant those using water in or upon the premises of a residence or dwelling for the purpose of sprinkling lawns, shrubbery, flowers, gardens and any other improvements to the property exterior to the dwelling, and does not include, and shall not be applicable to, hotels, tenements, commercial establishments, industries and apartment houses having more than four separate apartments or boarding houses having more than three rooms for occupancy by tenants; and be it further provided that in case of apart- ments and subdivided dwellings for which more than one meter is placed, that the reduced summer rate shall apply only to the meter of the consumer who maintains and waters the exterior premises of the property. SECTION III. All charges and assessments due for water to residential consumers as herein defined shall be made and collected in con- formity with other ordinances and regulations pertaining to the Fort Worth City Water Works. SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage.
