AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT A PORTION OF THE ALLEY RUNNING EAST AND WEST IN BLOCK 1, JENNINGS SOUTH ADDITION, FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BETWEEN VICKERY AND JARVIS STREETS BE ABANDONED, VACATED AND CLOSED; RESERVING AN EASEWENT; REPULING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; AND SPECIFYING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHIMS, the City Council of the City of Port Worth finds that a portion of the alley in Block 1,, Jennings South Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, running east and west between Vickery and Jarvis Streets, hereinafter more particularly described, has never been dedicated as a public thoroughfare, that it has not been used as a thoroughfare by the public in any sense for more than twenty (20) years, and that it is to the best interest of the public that said portion of it be permanently abandoned, vacated and closed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That that portion of the alley running east and west between Vickery and Jarvis Streets in Block 1, Jennings South Addition to the City of Fort North, Tarrant County, Texas, be permanently abandoned, vacated and closed as a public thoroughfare, and which area is more particularly described as follows: Being all that certain lot, tract or parcel of land situated in Port Worth, Tarrant County, Texas; Bounded on the North by: (a) The North 122 feet of Lot "A" of the Subdivision of a part of Block 1 of Jennings South Addition to the City of Fort North, Tarrant County, Texas, beginning at point in the North line of said alley approximately 200 feet Easterly along the said line from its intersection with the East line of Hemphill Street being the Southeast corner of lot 4 in Bliza Smith►s Subdivision of part of said Block; Thence North with the East line of said Ipt 4 of said Subdivision l22 feet to the South Line of Vickery Blvd; Thence Easterly with the South line of said Boulevard 50 feet; Thence South 122 feet to the North line of said alley; Thence West with said line 50 feet to the beginning, also being described sometimes as the Nest one-half of Iot2 Block 1 of Jennings South Addition. (b) All of lot 12 of Smith &Mead's Subdivision of part of Block 1 of Jennings South Addition to Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, and part of Lot "B" in said Block 1 of a Sub- division of Jennings South Addition, described in one tract as follows: BEGINNING at the Northeast corner of said Ipt 12 in the South line of Vickery Boulevard; Thence West with said line past the Northwest corner of said lot 12 at 25 feet in all 75 feet to the Northwest corner of said Lot "B"; Thence South 125 feet to the North line of alley; Thence East pass the Southwest corner of said lot 12 at 50 feet in all 75 feet to the Southeast corner of said lot 12; Thence North 125 feet to the place of beginning. Bounded on the South by: (a) A part of the West one-half of the East one-half of Block 1 of Jennings South Addition to the City of Fbrt North, Tarrant County, Texas, described as follows: BEGINNING in the North line of Jarvis Street approximately 250 feet Easterly from its intersection with the East line of Hemphill Street at the Southwest corner of a 50 a 125 feet lot heretofore sold by R. H. McClellan to Helena G. Thomas and W. D. Thomas; Thence North 125 fast to the Northwesticorner of said Thomas lot in the South line of alley; Thence West along the South line of alley 50 feet; Thence South 125 feet to the North line of Jarvis Street; Thence East with the North line of Jarvif Street 50 feet to the place of beginning. (b) Beginning at the Southeast corner of the last above described tract at a point in the North line of Jarvis Street approximate- ly 250 feet East from its intersection with the East line of Hemphill Street; Thence East with the North line of Jarvis Street, 37 feet; Thence North 125 feet to the South line of alley; Thence West with South line of alley 37 feet; Thence South 125 feet to the place of beginning. (c) All of lot 11 of Smith & Meadts Subdivision of pert of Block 1 of Jennings South Addition to Fort Worth, and also a part of Lot "D" in Block 1 of Jennings South Addition described in one tract as follows; Beginning at the Southeast corner of said lot 11 in the North line of Jarvis Street; Thence West at 25 feet pass the Southwest corner of said lot 11 continuing in all 38 feet to the Southeast corner of the last above described tract; Thence North 125 feet to the South line of alley; Thence East along said line 38 feet to the Northeast corner of said lot 11; Thence South 125 feet to the beginning. SECTION 2. That the fee in the portion of the alley above described is hereby fully released and will revert to the adjacent owners as required by law, save and except that an easement is reserved for the use of the Fire Department to enter the premises to protect the buildings and improve- ments thereon situated against the hazards of fire. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and it is so ordained.
