ORDINANCE NO. �
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE FOLLUZNG DESCRIBED
LOTS, TRACTS AND PARCELS OF LAND IN FOSTEPCO HEIGHTS
ADDITION BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED: THAT PART
OF NORTH CALHOUN STREET FROM THE NORTH LINE OF 36TH
STREET TO THE SOUTH LINE OF 38TH STREET, THAT PART OF
37TH STREET FROM THE EAST LINE OF CObMERCE STREET EAST
TO THE SANTA FE RAILROAD, AND THE ALLEYS IN BLOCKS 10
AND 22; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE FEE IN SAID
LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EF-
FECTIVE IMEDIATELY,
WHEREAS, although the hereinafter described areas appear on a recorded
plat as public thoroughfares, they have never been used by the public as
public thoroughfares, but on the contrary they have.always been used as
private property by the adjacent owners; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of the public that this apparent
cloud to the title on this property be removed and that these thoroughfares
be permanently closed and abandoned to public use; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1,
That the following described lots, tracts and parcels of land be and
the same are hereby vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as streets, al-
leys or public thoroughfares:
North Calhoun Street from the north line of 36th Street to the
south line of 38th Street;
37th Street from the east line of Commerce Street east to the
Santa Fe Railroad; and
The alleys in Blocks 10 and 22, Fostepco Heights Addition.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to all of the aforesaid lots, tracts and parcels of land
are hereby released and will revert to the adjacent owner as provided by
law, save and except that an eight foot easement for public utilities is re-
served along the easterly line of the tract adjacent to the railroad right of
way from 36th Street to 38th Street.
SECTION 3,
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 4,
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after the dc,tz of its passage, and it is so ordained,
