AN ORDINANCE MMMING SECTION I OF ORDINANCE NO, 1792,
PRESCRIBING RATES TO BE CHARGED CONSLVIRS OF WATER
SUPPLIED BY THE CITY OF FORT WORTH WATER WORKS, AND,
IN ADDITION THERETO, PROVIDING FOR WATER RATES DURING
THE BILLING PERIODS HBGnom;MAY 1, 1946, AND mmiNG
SEPMUM 30, 1946► SUCH RATES BEING APPLICABLE ONLY

BE IT ORDAUM BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT IMRTH, TEXa:
SECTION 1.
That Subsection 1 of Ordinance No. 1792 be and the same is hereby
amended, and, after being so amanded, it shall read as follows:
The following rates per month, or fraction thereof, shall
be the rates charged for water furnished to consumers within
the corporate limits of the City of Port Worth until revised
by the City Council of said City by subsequent ordinance, to-
wit: .

The above rates shall be the rates charged for water'fur-
nished to all persona, firms and corporations, provided,'
however, that during the billing periods beginning May 1,
1946, and ending September 30, 1946, residential consumers
using water for residential and irrigational purposes as here-
in defined shall be billed during said billing periods at
twenty per cent (20%) less than the above schedule, provided,
however, that no monthly billing shall be less than the monthly
minimum charge as set out in Ordinance No. 1792.
SECTION 2.
Under the teana of this ordinance, "residential consumers of water
for residential and irrigational purposes" is meant those using water in or
upon the premises of a residence or dwelling for the purpose of sprinkling
lawns, shrubbery, flowers, gardens and any other improvements to the prop-
arty exterior to the dwelling, and does not include and shall not be
applicable to hotels, tenements, commercial establislments, industries
and apartment houses having more than two separate apartments or boarding
houses having more than three rooms for occupancy by tenants; and be it
further provided that in case of apartments and subdivided dwellings for
which more than one meter is placed, the reduced summer rate shall apply
only to the meter of the consumer who maintains and waters the exterior
premises of the property.
SECTION 3•
All charges and assessments due for water to residential consumers
as herein defined shall be made and collected in conformity with ordinances
and regulations pertaining to the Port Worth City Water Works.
SECTION /+.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage.
