ORDINANCE NO. ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ADOPTING ESTIMATES OF THE COSTS OF IMPROVEMENTS AND OF AMOUNTS TO BE ASSESSED FOR IMPROVEMENTS ON A PORTION OF SOUTH MAIN STREET, FROM THE SOUTH LINE OF HARVEY STREET TO A POINT APPROXIMATELY 760 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH LINE OF PAGE STREET IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, FIXING TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING TO THE OWNERS OF ABUTT- ING PROPERTY AND TO ALL OTHER INTERESTED AND DIRECTING THE CITY SECRETARY TO GIVE NOTICE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, has hereto- fore ordered that the herein below mentioned portion of South Main Street be improved by raising, grading, filling, widening, permanently paving or repaving same by the construction, reconstruction, repairing or realigning of concrete curbs and gutters where adequate curbs and gutter are not now installed on proper grade and line, said permanent paving to be constructed to consist of r reinforced concrete, together with incidentals and appurte- nances, including drains where necessary, all as shown and provided for by the plans and specifications now on file with the City and contracts therefor have been made and entered into with Worth Construction Company, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, has caused the City En- gineer to prepare and file estimates of the cost of such improvements , an estimate of the amounts per front foot, proposed to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof, and such estimates have been exami- ned; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT: I. Such estimates be, and they are hereby adopted and approved. II. It is hereby found and determined that the cost of improvements on such por- tion of South Main Street with the amounts per front foot proposed to be assessed for such improvements against the abutting property and the owners thereof, are as follows, to-wit: On SOUTH MAIN STREET, from the southerly line of Harvey Street to a point approximate]y 760 Feet South of the South Line of Page Street, the estimated cost of improvements is i62.653.55 ; the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof for curb and gutter is S 1.83 ; the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof for improvements. exclusive of curb and gutter is 6 10.77 : total estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof is 96 12.60 . III. A hearing to be given and held by and before the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, to all owning or claiming any property abutt- ing upon said portion of South Bain Street and to all others owning or claiming any interest in such property. Such hearing shall be given and held on the day of . A. D. 1949, at otclock .9. in the Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to give notice of the time and place of such hearing and of other matters and facts in accordance with the terms and provisions of the act passed at the first called session of the Fortieth Legislature of the State of Texas, known as Chapter 106 of the Acts of said Session, which Act has been adopted as an amendment to and made a part of the Charter of the City of Fort Worth, Texas. Such notice shall be by advertisement inserted at least three times in a newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, the first publication to be made at least ten (10) days before the date of said hearing and said notice shall comply with and be in accordance with the terms and provisions of said Act.
