Reverend Bennie Scott has requested that the City vacate Portland Avenue in
6aa. the 1600 Block from Nixon Street east to Highway I-35W, a width of 50 feet
and a length of approximately 130 feet, as shown on the attached map.
The subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is unimproved. There are
no existing utilities located therein. The reviewing City departments and
private utility companies have no objections to this request provided the
Applicant replats the vacated right-of-way with adjoining property. A
satisfactory replat including necessary easements has been submitted by the
Applicant.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption
of an ordinance vacating the public right-of-way as requested.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating the subject right-
of-way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
