E SUBJECT: Proposed Street Name Change PAGE
HUMAN JJ,2/75 (Mark IV Industrial Park) 1 of 1
LAKE OBIN50"
Carter and Burgess, Inc., acting on behalf of the owners and developers of
the Mark IV Industrial Park, has requested that the street name, as it
wood exists in the development, be changed from Odum Road to Lone Star Boulevard
The reasons given are:
1. Odum Road is an east-west thoroughfare while this portion is in a
north-south configuration, and - -will terminate in the industrial
area.
2. This portion of Odum Road has no physical connection with the
east-west portion ,of Odum -Road., and is only accessible from
Franklin Drive. It - •is •approximately -800 feet long and runs in a
southeasterly to -northwesterly direction.
Odum Road is a major east-west thoroughfare with a proposed extension over
the Fort Worth and Denver -Railroad tracks, The Mark IV Industrial Park
abuts the north silo of Odum -Roast -at -i.ts, intersection with Deen Road. The
Police, Fire, Traffic, Public Works, and- Water Department and the Post
Master have reviewed this request -and -have -no objections.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordIrtance-be -adopted changing the name of that
portion of Odum Road lying -inside the -Mark IV .Industrial Park to Lone Star
Boulevard to avoid future confusion.
