HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 7253 ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 2, R.—M. PAGE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, ADJACENT TO LOTS 1 THROUGH 4 AND LOTS 11 THROUGH 14, $E ABANDONED, VACATED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the alley in Block 2, R. M. Page Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, adjacent to Lots 1 through 4 and Lots 11 through 14, be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as an alley or public thorough- fare of any kind or character whatever. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said portion of the alley is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law, save and except that easements are reserved for any and all existing utilities. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. Page Addition (V-75-41) 1 DAVIS SANT Rrll/3/75 PZ,-700 lot wlutES The Edna Gladney Home, owner of all abutting property, has requested that LAKE the City vacate the alley in Block 2, R. M. Page Addition, adjacent to Lots 1 through 4 and 11 through 14, a width of 19 feet and a length of 300 feet southward from Jessamine Street, as shown on the attached map. Subject alley, acquired by dedication, is open but unimproved, and contains sanitary sewer, electric and telephone facilities. Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have no objections to this request provided: �. The vacated right-of-way is replatted with abutting properties; 2. The replat provides a 20' alley connection along the southern boundary of Lot 4, Block 2, from Lipscomb Street to the remainder of the alley in Block 2; 3. The alley is physically closed at Jessamine Street or standard driveway approach installed; 4. The vacated right-of-way is reserved as a utility easement. The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that an ordinance be -adopted vacating subject right--of-way as requested. A satis- factory replat has been submitted to City staff and arrangements have been made to insure the construction of curb and gutter or driveway on Jessamine Street. Recommendation It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating right-of-way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
