Project Description Name: Construction of South Campus Drive from Seminary Drive to Old Mansfield Highway - Project No. 023 14600 Contractor: Austin Road Company Contract Awarded: June 21, 1976 (M&C C--3433) Work Order issued: August 2, 1976 :. Partial for portion of storm drain only Work Began: August 2, 1976 Project Substantially Complete and Final Inspection Made: August 31, 1977 Final Construction Approval: October 27, 1977 Working Time Bid: 75 + 5 (C.O. #1) = 80 Working Time Used: 90 Project Cost and Financing Original Bid Price: §240,401.41 Change Order No. 1: 4,531,37 (M&C C-3488, 8,28.76) No. 2: 460.00 (A.R. 1-15 2.3.1) Revised Bid Price: 244,932.78 Final Contract Cost: $247,349.44 Partial Payments Previously Made: 9 Amount: $219,758.80 Final Payment Due; 27,590.64 Sufficient funds are available for the final payment to be made from Project Number 104--230001-146. Contract Time Time charges show the contractor used 10 Working Days in addition to the time allotted. However, no liquidated damages are recommended because the contractor suffered considerable loss of time and could not prosecute his work in a normal manner at the railroad crossing because the right of entry on the railroad right-of-way was not obtained until the project was almost complete. The plank crossing and warning devices still have not been completed by the railroad, and the contractor, in cooperation with the City, has continued to provide the necessary barricades to keep the road closed (to safeguard the public) since the project was completed on August 31, 1977. Deviation from Bid Price The final contract cost of this project is $2,416.66 or 1% over the revised bid price. The increase is attributed to minor variations between quantities estimated in the Contract Specifications and quantities measured and used at the job site.
