A Resolution
WHEREAS, by Resolution adopted on December 7, 1981, pursuant to
M&C C-6029, the City Council authorized the employment of Vinson and
Elkins as outside counsel to assist the City Attorney in connection
with matters pertaining to the operation and expansion of the City of
Fort Worth sanitary sewage system; and
WHEREAS, by M&C C-6029, the City Council authorized the appropria-
tion of $50,000 to be used to employ the law firm of Vinson and Elkins
in connection with such matters; and
WHEREAS, Vinson and Elkins ' representatives continue to assist the
City by conducting research on Environmental Protection Agency permit
requirements and State of Texas rule-making related to the City' s per-
mit application; and
WHEREAS, potential financial commitments by the City in its sani-
tary sewage system are of such extraordinary importance and magnitude
that it is desirable to employ Vinson and Elkins for additional legal
assistance and guidance with respect to operation and future expansion
of the City's sanitary sewage system, including contractual obligations
of the City; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the cost of such additional legal
services will not exceed $25,000; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH:
SECTION 1 .
That Vinson and Elkins be retained for additional legal assistance
and guidance with respect to operation and future expansion of the
City's sanitary sewage system, including contractual obligations of the
City and that it is anticipated that such additional services will not
exceed $25,000.
SECTION 2 .
That this Resolution shall take effect immediately from and after
