Honorable Mayor and r l
Members of the City Council Re: Annexatinn of 300-$oot
City of Fort,. Worth Strip of Land on East
Lancaster Avenue
Mrs. McKnight and Gentlemen:
The City Plan Commission has determined that a strip of land 300 feet in
width along the north side of East Lancaster from 200 feet east of Cooks
Lane to Village Creek ( R. R. Ramey Survey) should be annexed in order to
discourage_strip commercial activity on the property and to prevent addi-
tional vehicular traffic hazards along East Lancaster Avenue. As is shown
on the attached plat, property on the south side of East Lancaster oppo-
site this tract is within City limits. The proposed annexation is con-
sistent with the Policy for Review of Annexation and Deannexation Requests
adopted by the City Council on November 26, 1962.
It is requested that the City Council consider the recommendation of the
City Plan Commission that the entire area described in First Reading
Ordinance 4186 be placed under second and final reading to the City, and
that separate deannexation ordinances be adopted, placing back under first
reading all land except the 300-root strip to be retained within City
limits.
