HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 877 A Resolution WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth has filed an application before the Texas Water Commission to amend its water Permit No. 2413, to increase the annual amount of water it *Awe may use from Lake Benbrook from 725 acre-feet to 56,042 acre-feet; and WHEREAS, the City of Weatherford has contested the City of Fort Worth' s application and has filed its own application for the remaining unallocated water in Lake Benbrook; and WHEREAS, because this matter is of extraordinary importance, it is necessary to retain outside counsel to represent the City in its hearing before the Texas Water Commission on this matter; and WHEREAS, the law firm of Vinson & Elkins possesses the know- ledge and expertise in proceedings before the Texas Water Commission and has agreed to represent the City of Fort Worth in this matter ; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1 . That the law firm of Vinson & Elkins be retained as outside counsel, to represent the City in application to amend Permit No. 2413 and all matters incident thereto. SECTION 2. That, as far as practicable, the compensation to be paid to Vinson & Elkins for their services be fixed in an amount not to exceed $50, 000. CITY OF FORT WORTH
