RESOLUTION SUPPORTING INCREASE IN FEDERAL GASOLI E USER FEE if WHEREAS, the Fort Worth City Council generally supports President Reagan's programs for economic recovery and cuts in the Federal budget; and WHEREAS, Fort Worth City Council is firmly committed to providing a sound and affordable public transportation system in Fort Worth; and, WHEREAS, Fort Worth Public Transportation system has been relying on Federal transit assistance for many years; and, WHEREAS, it is entirely appropriate for the Federal government to maintain a role in financial support of public transportation capital expenses; and, WHEREAS, a stable source of financing for public transportation is desperately needed; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE FORT WORTH CITY COUNCIL THAT 1 . The gasoline user fee be increased. 2. The user fee be increased with a percentage dedicated to capital assistance for public transportation. 3. All money produced from this user fee increase be added to already planned authorizations for public transportation. 4. This resolution be transmitted to the President, Fort Worth's Congressional delegation and appropriate administration officials.
