HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 822 b A Resolution I RESOLUTION FILE NO. �a.---- P WHEREAS, Booth Creek Investment, Inc. , and Jade West, Inc. , have retained the Dallas firm of Shank, Irwin, Conant, Williamson & Grevelle to represent them in a lawsuit against the City, the City Plan Commission, and its members resulting from the Plan Commission' s denial of the site plan submitted under Appliction UR-81-58 Jade West (Unified Residential ) ; and WHEREAS, because this matter is of extraordinary importance, it is necessary to retain outside counsel to represent the City, the City Plan Commission, and its members in this 'Lawsuit ; and WHEREAS, Louis Nichols possesses the knowledge and expertise in planning and zoning law and has agreed to represent the City in this matter ; NOW, THEREFORE, -�~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS : SECTION 1 . That Louis Nichols be retained as outside counsel , pursuant to Section 3, Chapter VI , of the City Charter , to represent the City, the City Plan Commission, and its members in the pending lawsuit by Booth Creek Investment, Inc. , and Jade West, Inc. ; and to advise the City in other planning matters relating thereto. SECTION 2 . That, as far as practicable, the compensation to be paid Louis Nichols for his services be fixed in an amount not to exceed $7,000.
