HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 600 A Res o� af?LU i rON FILE NO. t ~24-3-71 WHEREAS, a five acre tract of Trinity Park has been isolated by the d,r channelization of the Clear Fork of the Trinity River ren- dering this tract unsuitable for park and recreational use; 1 and WHEREAS, eight lots from the southeast corner of Forest Park have been separated from Forest Park by the extension of McCart Street rendering these lots unsuitable and hazardous for park and recreational use; and WHEREAS, a 1.1 acre tract has been separated from Glenwood Park by the construction of Riverside Drive rendering this tract unsuit- able and hazardous for park and recreational use; and WHEREAS, the old Southside Recreation Center at 215 West Vickery has i outlived its useful life and is to be replaced by a new fa- I cility funded by 1978-81 bond funds causing the Southside Center to be surplus property,; and WHEREAS, the sale of these surplus properties would allow private utilization of said properties and place them on the tax rolls; and WHEREAS, proceeds from sale of these properties would provide addi- tional funds for useful parks and recreational development. HOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: THAT the City believes that the sale of these surplus properties is in the best interest of the citizens of Fort Worth. THAT the City Council supports the sale of these surplus properties and strongly urges the Citizens of Fort Worth to vote FOR such sale in the April 7, 1979 election. .s O N [JFJ 0" OF FORT WORTH , i A Resolution i THAT this motion be in effect immediately upon its adoption.
