HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 615 T s-YI f:-L TTO. � esO�utiOn WHEREAS, the need to conserve energy is of vital importance to the well-being of the entire country; and, WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of Texas has urged the adoption of certain energy-saving measures including: Odd/even day gasoline sales, A no-tie, no-coat, short-sleeve dress code for Texans during the summer months, Strict adherence to the 55-miles-per-hour speed limit which saves lives as well as gasoline, More ride-sharing, and Thermostat settings no lower than 76 degrees; and, WHEREAS, the citizens of Fort Worth have demonstrated time and again their willingness and ability to meet the challenge of crises: NOW BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby call on all business, industry and individuals in the City of Fort Worth to voluntarily adopt the energy-saving measures outlined by Governor Clements and set an example for the rest of the country.
