WHEREAS, for the first time in 80 years, the World Champion-
ships of the International Federation of Gymnastics were held outside
Europe; and,
WHEREAS, through the hard work of many organizations and indi-
viduals, these championships were held in Fort Worth; and,
WHEREAS, the excellent facilities of the Tarrant County
Convention Center were provided to hold the championships: NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
That sincere appreciation be expressed to the officials of
the Tarrant County Convention Center for providing the excellent facili-
ties for the World Gymnastics Championships.
