HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 8779• the Mayor and Members of the City Council SUBJECT: BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT APPOINTMENTS for% lrelffif"E' JUNE 13, 2006 Page 1 of 1 By Ordinance 17947, the Council amended the Zoning Ordinance to create two, nine-member Board of Adjustment Panels. One panel will be for the administration and hearing of appeals for residential properties and the other panel for appeals regarding commercial, institutional and industrial developments. Each member of the respective district on one panel is to serve as the alternate member from the same district on the other panel. This will hopefully assure a nine-member representation on each panel at all times and provide some cross training of issues. It is requested that the City Council appoint one member to each panel to represent their district. The following is a list of the current members and their known desires to serve on which panel. Place 10, recently appointed member Bill Miller, is from District 4 area and would serve, if appointed, on the Residential Panel. Susan Witts, has served in Alternate Place I I for many years and is from District 5 area. She would prefer to serve on the Residential Panel, if appointed. Staff is requesting that all appointments be made by July I I th to allow time for organization and potential start up of the two panels in August. F'or� Charles R.
