HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 38905-A4 (2)STATE OF TEXAS CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. �1610L "4 COUNTY OF TARRANT $ WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and TranSystems Corporation Consultants (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 38905, (the CONTRACT) in the amount of $368,235.32 which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-23498 on the 26th day of May, 2009; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT was subsequently revised by Amendment Number 1 in the amount of $30,930.00 administratively authorized by the City on the 20th day of April, 2010, Amendment Number 2 in the amount of $180,496.68 authorized by the City Council by M&C C�23498 on the 26th day of May, 2009; and Amendment #3 in the amount of $87,252.00 authorized by the City Council by M&C C-24790 on the 22nd day of March 2011; WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: North Beach Street from Timberland Boulevard to Keller -Hicks Road, WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 4 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in the proposal letter dated November 111 2011, copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer total $47,126.00. 2. Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $714,040.00. 3. Page -1- All other provisions of the Contract, which are not expressly amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect. Specifically, this amendment includes the services to incorporate supplemental contract documents for water main improvements as indicated herein. This work will be included with and will augment the design services associated with the original contract. The specific work to be included is as follows: WATER DEPARTMENT -WATER IMPROVEMENTS Evaluation of Existing 2111and 30" Water Mains TSC will evaluate depth of existing21"and 30" water lines and prepare various alternatives and cost estimates for water main lowering and relocation. This study will also include evaluating the conversion of an existing 24" force main into a potable water main. Relocation of 21"and 30" Water Mains from Timberline Blvd. to Keller Hicks Rd. • Plan and profile sheets will be prepared at 1"=40' for both the 21"and 30" mains. The 21"water main will be lowered and replaced with a 24" water line for the entire length of project. TranSystems will coordinate with the Water Department to determine limits of replacement of the 30" water line. • Bid Items will be determined and quantity takeoffs will be performed for inclusion into the Beach Street roadway contract as an addendum • Specifications and related special provisions will be prepared for inclusion into Beach Street roadway contract as an addendum • Construction sequencing will be prepared to integrate the water main construction into the Beach Street paving and drainage improvements • An addendum will be prepared and issued to contractors to add these water main improvements into the solicitation for bids that are due on Dec. 01, 2011. $ 38,326.00 Systems Page 2 of 2 July 29, 2010 • Requests for Information (RFI) related to inclusion of these water lines will be included in the scope of work. • Attendance of preconstruction meeting for water main improvements is included in scope. Project will be streamlined by the Water Department with quick review and comments 2. Water Department will work directly with Field Operations and Production to determine shutdowns and sequencing methods that will be communicated to TranSystems. 3. Water Department will review shop drawings. 4. Bid Plans will be developed by Transystems in the narrow window of time available to meet the Dec.1 bid date. Water Department will prepare any change order needed to cover changes made in plans after the bid date. 5. Water Department will perform all water system analysis needed to determine impacts of this construction to City water systems. 6. This project will not include any special detailing; it is assumed that standard City details are all that is needed. 7. It is assumed all construction will take place within existing right-of-way.
