AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH: PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE
BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN
SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER:
AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of
Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made
an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in
Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEING a tract of land about 6 miles southeasterly
from the County Courthouse in Fort Worth, Tarrant County,
Texas, and lying in the L. Cohen, R. Gillaster, L. Oldham,
and S. J. Rhodes Surveys;
BEGINNING at a point in the present City of Fort Worth
city limit line at its intersection with the northeasterly
line of Oak Grove Road and the center of Sycamore Creek;
THENCE southeasterly along the northeasterly line of
Oak Grove Road to its intersection with the present City
of Fort Worth city limit line, in the north line of the
proposed southeast Loop Highway;
THENCE along the present City of Fort Worth city limit
line:
Southwesterly 40 feet more or less to the center of Oak
Grove Road, and south 322 degrees east along the center of
Oak Grove Road 160 feet, and south 332 degrees east along
the center of Oak Grove Road 500 feet, and south 79 degrees
30 minutes west 40 feet more or less to the west line of
Oak Grove Road, north 33 degrees 06 minutes west 141 feet,
and north 68 degrees 58 minutes west 81 feet, and south 75
degrees 09 minutes west 250.2 feet, and south 10 degrees 49
minutes west 161.6 feet, and south 80 degrees 40 minutes
west 437.8 feet, and south 2 degrees 30 minutes west 583.7
feet, and south 6 degrees 50 minutes west 211.5 feet, and
south 1065.3 feet, and south 1300 feet, the southeast corner
of the L. Oldham Survey;
THENCE east to the northeast corner of the S. J. Rhodes
Survey;
THENCE south along the east line of the S. J. Rhodes
Survey to its intersection with the present east -west city
limit line, across said S. J. Rhodes Survey;
THENCE west along said line to its intersection with
the present north -south city limit line in said survey;
THENCE northerly with said city limit line across the
S. J. Rhodes, L. Oldham, and L. Cohen Surveys to its inter-
section with the northerly line of Oak Grove Road;
THENCE southeasterly along the northerly line of Oak
Grove Road to the place of beginning, and containing approxi-
mately 0.6 square miles.
Section 2.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in The Fort Worth Press,
a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the
provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter.
Section 3.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and
effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30)
days from the date of its publication, as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
PRESENTED AND PASSED on first reading Friday, the �e - day of
1958.
