AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH: PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE
BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN
SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTION 4o, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER:
AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of
Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made
an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in
Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEING a tract of land about 6 miles southeast from
the County Courthouse in Fort Worth, Tarrant County,
Texas, and lying in the L. Cohen, E. Rogers and R.
Gillaster Surveys;
BEGINNING at a point in the present City of Fort
Worth city limit line at its intersection with the
northerly line of the proposed southeast Loop and the
northeasterly line of Oak Grove Road;
THENCE northwesterly along the northeasterly line
of Oak Grove Road to its intersection with the center
of Sycamore Creek, in the present City of Fort Worth
city limit line;
THENCE along the present City of Fort Worth city
limit line down the center of Sycamore Creek, with its
meanders, to its intersection with the easterly right
of way line of the I. and G. N. R.R.;
THENCE southeasterly along the easterly right of
way line of the I. and G. N. R.R. to its intersection
with the northerly line of the proposed southeast Loop
Highway, in the present City of Fort Worth city limit
line;
THENCE westerly along the present City of Fort Worth
city limit line and the northerly line of the proposed
southeast Loop to the place of beginning, and containing
approximately 0.1 square miles.
Section 2.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in The Fort Worth Press,
a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the
provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter.
Section 3.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect
upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days
from the date of its publication, as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
PRESENTED AND PASSED on first reading Friday, the / p � day of
