RESOLUTION
WHEREAS the various senior citizens' groups of Fort Worth some-
times need a central place to meet for certain senior citizen
activities; and
WHEREAS it is recognized that senior citizens' groups do not
have the financial resources necessary to pay the rental for required
facilities; and
WHEREAS the City of Fort Worth has several existing buildings
that can serve as meeting places for senior citizen activities; and
WHEREAS there are many new buildings proposed to be constructed
upon approval of the bond election proposals on December 9, 1975,
including the Will Rogers Exhibit Building, community centers, Botanic
Garden Conservatory, tennis centers, golf facilities, a transportation
center, branch libraries, fire stations, etc., all of which can be
potentially directly beneficial to senior citizens' groups;
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that non-profit organizations of senior
citizens be authorized to use Will Rogers Memorial facilities at no
coat to the extent that such facilities are available for their use
for a period of one year; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all archi-
tects and engineers involved in designing these facilities be directed
to specifically consider the special need of senior citizens and the
physically handicapped in the design of such new facilities.
