HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 319 OF RESOLUTION FILE NO. 1 R E S O L U T I ON WHEREAS, on September 8, 1970, the Electorate of the City of Fort Worth endorsed the concept of the proposed Vickery-Rosedale connection by providing street improvement bonds for preliminary engineering and other expenses; and, WHEREAS this project was approved by the Coordinating Committee, Dallas- Fort Worth Regional Transportation Study in November 1971 and was approved by the Texas Highway Department and the Federal Highway Administration; and, WHEREAS this project was approved by the Sector Planning Councils of Sector 1 and Arlington Heights; and, WHEREAS this project will provide needed relief to the overcrowded traffic conditions presently existing on the West Freeway; and, WHEREAS additional access is needed to the Hospital District south of the Central Business District; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fort Worth that the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation be advised of the wholehearted support of the City Council in furtherance of this project. The City Council further would urge that all steps be taken to expedite the ►' completion of this work in order to achieve the benefits resulting from this project for the citizens of this community.
