R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, an application by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for an increase in its telephone rates is pending before the Public Utilities Commission of the State of Texas and, as part of its deliberations, the Public Utilities Commission may conduct public hearings in various cities throughout the state to receive from citizens of the State of Texas their opinions regarding the application by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for an increase in its telephone rates ; and, WHEREAS, the opinions and expressions of citizens is vital and necessary to the formulation of decisions affecting those citizens ; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth encourages its citizens to participate in government by voicing their opinions : NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS : That, in the event the Public Utilities Commission of the State of Texas desires to hold public hearings in Fort Worth on Southwestern Bell Telephone Company's rate increase application the City Council Chamber in the Fort Worth Municipal Buildings hereby offered to the Public JUtilities Commission free of charge for its use in conducting the rate hearings.
