AN ORDINANCE MAKING FINDINGS; DISCONTINUING CERTAIN'
TERRITORY FROM WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY
OF FORT WORTH; RELINQUISHING EXTRATERRITORIAL JURIS-
DICTIONAL RIGHTS IN CERTAIN TERRITORY; CONSENTING TO
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY BY THE TOWN OF
LAKESIDE; PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE
CUMULATIVE OF ALL ORDINANCES AFFECTING BOUNDARIES;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND NAMING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Town of Lakeside and the City of Fort Worth have
heretofore adopted a Joint Resolution fixing and establishing a mutual
common boundary line between the two municipalities; and
WHEREAS, in compliance with the terms of the Resolution certain
areas in Fort Worth are to be discontinued and made available for annexa-
tion by Lakeside; and certain areas in Lakeside are to be discontinued
and made available for annexation by Fort Worth,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT the hereinafter described territory within the corporate
limits of the City of Fort Worth be and the same is hereby discontinued
as a part of the City of Fort Worth; said territory being described by metes
and bounds as follows:
TRACT 1.
BEING a portion of the J. Wilcox Survey No. 33, Abstract No. 1716
and a portion of the J. Wilcox Survey No. 34, Abstract No. 1717 situated
about 10 miles northwesterly from the Courthouse of Tarrant County, Texas,
and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point for corner at the Southwest corner of the J. Wilcox
Survey No. 34, Abstract No. 1717, said point for corner also being in
the north line of the J. Wilcox Survey No. 33, Abstract No. 1716, said
point for corner also being the Southeast corner of the M. Hunt Survey,
Abstract No. 761, said point for corner also being a common corner of
the City of Fort Worth and the Town of Lakeside corporate boundary.
THENCE North, along and with the west line of the J. Wilcox Survey No. 34,
Abstract No, 1717, and along and with the east line of the M. Hunt Survey,
Abstract No. 761, and along and with the cO0mOD City Of Fort Worth and
Town Of Lakeside corporate boundary line to n point for corner in the
northeasterly line of pavement of the southwesterly frontage road of
JaukSboro Highway (State Highway Nn, 199\; Said corner being six /60\
feet from, more or less, and perpendicular to the-southwesterly right-of-
way line of JaoksbUro Highway /State Highway NV. 199\.
THENCE southeasterly along and with the northeasterly pavement line of the
southwesterly frontage road of JacksbUro Highway /State Highway No. 199\
to a point for corner at its intersection with the northwesterly right-of-
way line, produced northeasterly, of Young Road, also known as County Road
No . , 4O23^
THENCE southwesterly along and with the northwesterly right-of-way line of
Young Road (County Road No. 4023) produced to a point for corner at its
intersection with the southwesterly right-of-way line Of JackSbopo Highway
(State Highway N8. 199); said point for corner also being in the oo00oD
Fort North and Lakeside corporate boundary;
THENCE northwesterly along and with the southwesterly right-of-Nay line of
JackSboro Highway (State Highway NV. 199) and the common Fort Worth and
Lakeside corporate boundary to a point for corner in the north line of the
J. Wilcox Survey No. 33, Abstract No. 1716 and the south line of the J.
Wilcox Survey No, 34, Abstract Nn. 1717;
THENCE west along and with the north-'line of the J. Wilcox Survey No. 33,
Abstract No. 1716, and the south line of the J. Wilcox Survey NO. 34,
Abstract NO. 1717, and along and with the onmmnD Fort Worth and Lakeside
corporate boundary line to the place of beginning and containing approxi-
mately 33 acres of land. .
TRACT 2.
BEING a portion of the Robert Arse Survey, Abstract Nn, 5, situated
about ll miles northwesterly from the Courthouse of Tarrant County, Texas and
being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point for corner in the east line of the Robert Arse Survey,
Abstract No. 5; said point for corner also being in or near the south right-
of-way line of State Farm to Market Highway No. 1886; said point for corner
also being in the west line of the A. YuO NordStrand Survey, Abstract No.
1584.
THENCE south along and with the east line of the Robert Arse Survey, Abstract
No, 5 and along and with the west 7iO8 of the A. Van Nnrdstrand Survey,
Abstract No. 1584 to a point for corner in the mutually agreed common boundary
line between Lakeside and Fort Worth in the easterly right-of-way line of
Silver Creek Road (County Road No. 4031).
THENCE in a northerly direction along and with the easterly right-of-way line
of Silver Creek Road (County Road Nn. 4031) and along and with the mutually
agreed common boundary line between Lakeside and Fort Worth to the place of
beginning and containing approximately 0.8 acres of land.

SECTION 2.
THAT all extraterritorial jurisdictional rights the City of Fort
Worth may have within the hereinaboVe described territory are hereby ex-
pressly waived and relinquished, and the City of Fort Worth hereby expressly
o0DoeDts to the reduction Of its extraterritorial jurisdiction by relin-
quishment of the hereiOObOVe described territory.
SECTION 3.
THAT the City of Fort Worth hereby expressly consents to the
annexation of the hereinabove described territory by the Town of Lakeside.
SECTION 4.
THAT this ordinance shall and doss hereby amend every prior ordi-
nance in conflict herewith, but as to all other Ordinances or sections of
ordinances not in direct conflict herewith this ordinance Shall be and is
hereby made cumulative.
SECTION 5.
THAT it is hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council
that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordi-
nance are severable, and if any phrase" clause, sentence, paragraph Or
section of this ordinance shall be declared void, ineffective, or 'unconsti-
tutional by the valid judgment or final decree of a court of competent juris-
diction, such unconstitutionality Shall not affect any Of the remaining
phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections hereof, since the same
would have been enacted by the City Council without the incorporation herein
Of any such void, ineffective or unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence,
paragraph or section.
SECTION 6.
THAT this ordinance shall become effective and shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and it is so ordained.

The Town of Lakeside and the City of Fort Worth have completed negotiations
and have executed a Joint Resolution fixing and establishing mutual common
boundary line between the two cities (M&C PZ-416, January 4, 1971).
Under the terms of the Joint Resolution each city will discontinue certain
area and make it available for annexation by the other city so that neither
city will have territory in conflict with the mutual common boundary line
agreement.
When the Council adopted the Joint Resolution the staff was authorized and
directed to prepare the necessary disannexation and annexation ordinance to
effectuate the terms of the agreement.
Lakeside is now in the process of discontinuing areas to be annexed by Fort
Worth. It is time for Fort Worth to discontinue the areas to be annexed
by Lakeside.
Attached is a copy of map showing the area to be discontinued by Fort
Worth. An ordinance will be submitted for Council action.
Recommendation_
It is recommended that the ordinance discontinuing territory from Fort
Worth be passed and approved.
