RE: Amendment 1 —Wholesale Wastewater Meter Station Validation Testing
Dear Mr. Harder:
Thank you for the opportunity to continue work. Please find the scope and amendment
cost for the installation and calibration of three (3) temporary flow meters for a two week
period. We understand the purpose is to validate the existing permanent meter stations.
The scope of services is as follows:
Site evaluation —Based on initial location information provided by the City, RJN will
recommend to the City which manhole sites to install the temporary flow meters. The
equipment will be activated to record the depth and velocity at 5 minute intervals.
Installation —Site installation documents will be prepared for each (3) of the selected
monitoring manholes. The document will include the street location, map/sketch, pipe
dimensions, manhole depth, meter configuration and hydraulic conditions. The equipment
will undergo a series of diagnostic tests and calibrations to validate and confirm the meter
data.
Data Collection— It is anticipated that each flow meter will be installed for a period of two
weeks. Two (2) site visits will be performed during the two week monitoring period. A
velocity profile will also be obtained during each calibration by measuring the instantaneous
velocity at pre -defined depths, and then integrated to derive an average for comparison to
the meters calculated average velocity.

Letter Report The engineers will use various analytical tools, such as hydrographs and
scattergraphs to verify the accuracy and precision of the equipment. A letter report will be
provided including a summary of the average flows for each site. Attached to the letter will
include the site installation documents, 1-hour hydrographs and the average daily flow
rates.
Compensation —Compensation for providing these services will be based upon the
following rate table.
