HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 4890ORDINANCE NO. aq90 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER; AMENDING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PRESCRIBING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND SPECIFYING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: Section 1. That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth in the north right- of-way line of Benbrook Cardinal Chaplin Road (County Road No. 1040), 80 feet west from the east line of the L. B. Creswell Survey produced north; THENCE south along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 80 feet west from the east line of the L. B. Creswell Survey produced north, parallel to and 80 feet west from the east line of the L. B. Creswell Survey, and parallel to and 80 feet west from east line of the L. B. Creswell Survey pro- duced south, to a point 50 feet south from the middle of Marys Creek; THENCE easterly along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet south from the middle of Marys Creek, to a point 50 feet west from the west line of the D. P. Dean Tract in the T. G. Zachery and J. F. Elliott Surveys; THENCE south along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet west from the west line of the D. P. Dean Tract and along a line parallel to and 50 feet west from the west line of the D. P. Dean Tract produced south 50 feet, to a point; THENCE southeasterly along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to 50 feet south westerly from the southerly line of the D. P. Dean Tract to a point 50 feet west from the east line of the J. F. Elliott Survey; THENCE south along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet west from the east line of the J. F. Elliott Survey, t a point 50 feet north from the north line of the H. Dickson Survey; THENCE west along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet north from the north line of the H. Dickson Survey, and parallel to and 50 feet north from the north line of the H. Dickson Survey produced west 50 feet to a point. THENCE south along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet west from the west line of the H. Dickson Survey, to a point 50 feet north from the north line of the Hra. of Hays Covington Survey; THENCE west along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet north from the north line of the Hrs. of Hays Covington Survey and along the north line of the Hrs. of Hays Covington Survey produced west 50 feet to a point; THENCE south along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet west from the west line of the Hrs. of Hays Covington survey to a point 50 feet north from the north line of the J. F. Elliott Survey; THENCE west along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet north from the north line of the J. F. Elliott Survey and along a line parallel to and 50 feet north from the north line of the J. F. Elliott Survey produced west 50 feet to a point; THENCE south along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet west from the west line of the J. F. Elliott Survey to a point 50 feet north from the south line of the J. Watson Survey; THENCE west along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet north from the south line of the J. Watson Survey to a point 50 feet east from the west line of the J. Watson Survey; THENCE north along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet east from the west line of the J. Watson Survey to a point 50 feet north from the north line of the E. Taylor Survey produced east; THENCE west along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet north from the north line of the E. Dickson Survey produced south, the present City limit line of the City of Benbrook to a point 50 feet south from the south line of the T. & N. 0. R.R. Co. Survey; THENCE east along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet south from the south line of the T. & N. 0. R.R. Co. Survey and along a line parallel to and 50 feet south from the south line of the T. & N. 0. R.R. Co. Survey produced east 50 feet to a point; THENCE north along the city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet east from the east line of the T. & N. 0. R.R. Co. Survey produced south, and along a line parallel to and 50 feet east from the east line of th T. & N. 0. R.R. Co. Survey, to a point 50 feet south from the south line of the H. A. Lounes Survey; THENCE east along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet south from the south line of the H. A. Lounes Survey to a point 50 feet west from the west line of the F. S. Mervin Survey; THENCE south along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet west from the west line of the F. S. Mervin Survey and along a line parallel to and 50 feet west from the west line of the F. S. Mervin Survey produced south 50 feet to a point; THENCE east along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet south from the north line of the J. 0. Quinn Survey, and along a line parallel to and 50 feet south from the north line of the J. 0. Quinn Survey produced east 50 feet to a point; THENCE north along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet east from the west line of the Jas. Sharp Survey, to a point 50 feet south from the J. S. Evans Survey; THENCE east along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet south from the south lines of the J. S. Evans and Jesse Bartlett Surveys and along a line parallel to and 50 feet south from the south line of the Jesse Bartlett Survey produced east 50 feet to a point; THENCE north along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet east from the east line of the Jesse Bartlett Survey produced south, and along a line parallel to and 50 feet east from the east line of the Jesse Bartlett Survey, to a point 50 feet south from the north line of the J. Rickals Survey; THENCE east along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet south from the south line of the J. A. Spillman Survey; THENCE east along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth parallel to and 50 feet south from the north line of the J. Wilcox Surveys, to the southwest corner of the J. Wilcox Survey; THENCE west along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth, the north line of the J. Be McDermott Survey, to the northwest corner of the J. Be McDermott Survey; THENCE south along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth, the west line of the J. Be McDermott Survey, to its southwest corner; THENCE east along the south line of the J. Be McDermott Survey, to its intersection with the east line of the J. F. Heath Survey; THENCE south along the east line of the J. F. Highway No. 377, to its intersection with the north right - of-way line of State Farm -to- Market Road No. 2376; THENCE northwesterly along the northerly right- of-way line of State Farm -to- Market Road No. 2376 with its meanders, to its inter- section with the west line of Tarrant County, Texas; THENCE north along the west line of Tarrant County, Texas, to its intersection with the south right- of-way line of County Road No. 1024; THENCE easterly along the south right- of-way line of County Road No. 1024 with its meanders to its intersection with the west line of the D. H. Dickson Survey; THENCE north along the west line of the D. H. Dickson Survey to its northwest corner; THENCE east along the north line of the D. H. Dickson Survey, to the southwest corner of the McKinney and Williams Survey; THENCE northeast and north along the lines of the McKinney and Williams Survey to its northwest corner; THENCE continuhg north along the easterly west line of the McKinney and Williams Surveys produced north to its intersection with the south line of the T. G. Zachery Survey; THENCE west along the south line of the T. G. Zachery Survey to its southwest corner; THENCE north along the west line of the T. G. Zachery Survey to its southwest corner; THENCE north along the west line of the T. G. Zachery Survey, to its northwest corner, and continuing north along said line produced to its intersection with the north right - of-way line of County Road No. 1040; THENCE east along the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth, the north right- of-way line of County Road No. 1040 to the place of beginning and containing approximately 21.77 square miles. Section 2. That this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every prior ordinance in conflict herewith, and more particularly this ordinance expressly amends Ordi- nance Nos. 3767, 4882 and 3846, heretofore adopted and passed on July 15, 1963, but as to all other ordinances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict herewith this ordinance shall be and is hereby, made cumulative. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be published one time in a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter %%VIII of the City Charter. Section 4. If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this ordinance Is for any reason held void or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections, subsections, clauses, sentences, phrases or words, except as the same are inseparable from and indispensable to the remaining portions of the ordinance. Section 5. That this ordinance shall become.effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its publications,'as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
