AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING TEE BOUNDARY LD4ITS AND ANNEXING
CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A
DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE PROVISIONS OP' SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE
CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the
City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits
and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being
situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds
as follows:
A tract of land adjacent to the City of Fort Worth,
the City of White Settlement and the City of Benbrook
described as follows:
A tract of land out of the Rays Covington, B. B. B.
& C. R. R., G. White, J. W. Oxford, B. F. Wickson, D.
Caldwell, T. 0. Moody, J. Rowland, H. T. Boydston, A. B.
Connor, D. E. Norton, G. W. Hazelwood and the J. D.
Farmer Surveys to Tarrant County, Texas, more fully de-
scribed as follows:
Beginning at a point in the present City of Fort Worth
city limit line, said point being at the northeast corner
of Calmont Street (Old Stage Coach Road) and the Grafa
Mary's Creek Road No. 1026, said point being also in the
city limit line of the City of White Settlement;
Thence north along the east line of Road No. 1026 and
along,the city limit line of the City of White Settlement
to the north line of the Hays Covington Survey in the Old
Weatherford Road No. 1022;
Thence west and north along the southerly and westerly
boundary line of the City of White Settlement to a point,
the northwest corner of the City of White Settlement at
the southwest corner of the D. E. Norton Survey;
Thence east along the northerly line of the City of White
Settlement to a point in the City of Fort Worth city limit
line in the north line of the J. J. Reese Survey;
Thence north and west along the present City of Fort Worth
city JW% line to a point in the Silver Creek Road No. 1031,
said point being the northwest corner of the A. B. Connor
Survey;
Thence south along the west line of the A. B. Connor and
the H. T. Boydston Surveys to the north line of the J. Rowland
Survey;
Thence west, south, and east along the J. Rowland Survey
to the northwest corner of the D. Caldwell Survey;
Thence south along the west line of the D. Caldwell Survey
to a point in the southerly line of White Settlement Road
No. 1007;
Thence in a westerly direction along the southerly line of
White Settlement Road to the east line of Dr. Harris Road
No. 1012;
Thence in a southerly direction along the easterly line of
the Dr. Harris Road to a point in the north line of Benbrook-
Cardinal Chaplin Road No. 1040;
Thence in an easterly direction along the north line
of the Benbrook- Cardinal Chaplin Road to a point in the
present City of Benbrook city limit line;
Thence north along the City of Benbrook city limit
line to the south line of U. S. Highway No. 80;
Thence in an easterly direction along the north line
of the City of Benbrook and along the south line of U. S.
Highway No. 80 to a point in the present City of Fort Worth
city limit line, said point being in the east line of the
Grafa Mary's Creek Road No. 1026;
Thence north along the present City of Fort Worth city
Limit line to the place of beginning, containing approxi-
mately 6.2 square miles.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be published one time in The Fort Worth Press,
a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with
the provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and ef-
fect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30)
days from the date of its publication as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
