Letter Amendment (Amendment No. 1)
This is an amendment to the Grant Agreement for the subject AIP project to increase the
maximum obligation of the United States, as set forth in the Grant Agreement accepted by
the Sponsor on March 18, 2011.
This letter effects the amendment, and commits the Federal Aviation Administration, acting
for and on behalf of the United States of America, to increase the maximum obligation of the
United States by $251,004 (from $288,540 to $539,544) to cover the Federal share of the
total actual eligible and allowable project costs of the above referenced Grant Agreement.
Under the terms of the Grant Agreement, this document is incorporated into and constitutes
Amendment No. One to the above referenced Grant Agreement. All other terms and
conditions of the Grant Agreement remain in full force and effect.

CONSENT HEARING:
SUBJECT: Authorize the City Manager to Apply for and Accept, if Awarded, a Grant from the Federal
Aviation Administration in the Amount Up to $1,000,000.00 to Construct Airfield
Pavement Rehabilitation on Runways Taxiways, and Aprons, Runway Guard Light
Rehabilitation and Precision Approach Path Indicator Rehabilitation at Fort Worth
Alliance and Adopt Appropriation Ordinance Airport (COUNCIL DISTRICT 2)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Authorize the City Manager to apply for and accept, if awarded, a grant from the Federal Aviation
Administration in the amount up to $1,000,000.00 to construct airfield pavement rehabilitation on
runways, taxiways and aprons, runway guard light rehabilitation and precision approach path
indicator rehabilitation;
2. Authorize the use of land credits in the amount up to $52,631.58 for the City's in -kind local match
of five percent of the project cost; and
3. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Airport Grants Fund by $1,052,631.58 subject to receipt of the grant.
DISCUSSION:
Each year Fort Worth Alliance Airport is eligible to receive Airport Cargo Entitlement and Non -Primary
Airport money from the FAA. This is based on the amount of cargo activity from the previous calendar
year and discretionary dollars available in the airport improvement program. The total amount of
entitlement and non -primary airport money available to Fort Worth Alliance Airport this year is an
amount up to $1,000,000.00.
Upon receipt of a grant from the FAA, Airport Cargo Entitlement and Non -Primary Airport funds will
be used for:
1. Design and construct Airfield Pavement Rehabilitation. (Runway, Taxiways, Aprons Full and
Partial Depth Repairs);
2. Complete runway guard light rehabilitation; and
3. Complete precision approach path indicator rehabilitation.
Fort Worth Alliance Airport is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Financial Management Services Director certifies that upon approval of the above
recommendations, receipt of the grant and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds
will be available in the current capital budget, as appropriated, of the Airport Grants Fund.
