HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 41750-A2 (2)AMENDMENT N o 0 2 TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT WHEREAS, , the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and Hal f f Associates, Inc., (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 41750, (the CONTRACT) which was authorized M&C C-24862 on the twelfth day of April, 2011 in the amount of $338,966.00; and (Ally SVIR)A-11-N-16. m)c ()nh5r (-\cciu WHEREAS, the CONTRACT was subsequently revised by: Amendment Number 1 in the amount of $33,200.00 which was administratively authorized on October 13 th, 2011; and WHI4_,REASI the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Marine Creek Park Corridor Improvements, Project Nos., 01576 (Rodeo Park), 01577 (Marine Creek Linear Park), 01585 (Buck Sansom Park), 01586 (Lincoln Park). WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 2 to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee. NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT: 1. Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the -additional engineering services specified in a proposal dated March 14, 2012, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer totals $36,550.00. WORTH, TX • 1201 North Bowser Road Richardson, Texas 75081 (214) 346-6200 Fax (214) 739-0095 ADDITIONAL SERVICES CONFIRMATION To: Joel McElhany From: David Buchanan Email: dbuchanan@halff.com VIA: Email I II Date: March 14, 2012 AVO: 28179 Project: Marine Creek Corridor Park Improvements II I As per your request, Halff Associates is pleased to submit this fee proposal for $36,550 to assist in the preparation of contract documents for the Angle Ave. under bridge trail crossing and low water crossing at Marine Creek Corridor Park Improvements in Ft. Worth Texas. Per our understanding of your requirements, the specific items are identified as follows: 1. Angle Ave. Under Bridge Trail Crossing Improvements and Low Water Crossing ($36,550): a. Survey Services ($5,600): On -ground survey services will be performed, locating all above ground improvements, above ground visible utilities and tree groupings Ground surface contours at one (01) foot intervals will be supplemented by appropriate spot elevations accurate to 0.1 foot elevation in areas where new facilities are proposed. b. Geotechnical Investigation ($2,950): Geotechnical services will be performed, providing one (01) boring to a depth of 25 feet The report shall include recommendations for the proposed improvements and include lab tests including, PI test, moisture content test pocket penetrometer test, percent finer than the No. 200 sieve test, swell tests and an unconfined compressive strength test. c. Engineering Services ($28,000): i. Demolition: Halff associates will prepare demolition plans which will provide notes and details for the demolition, removal and disposal of on site amenities such as concrete trail, walls and utilities. ii. Site Grading: Halff Associates will prepare grading plans for the proposed improvements including notes and details required. The grading plans will show existing and proposed ground contour lines and spot elevations needed to grade the improvements for proper drainage. iii. Trail Dimension Control and Design: Halff Associates will design and provide details for the trail and associated amenities (pedestrian handrail) associated with the proposed improvements. iv. Structural Design: Halff Associates will provide structural engineering design for the wall structure and low water crossing associated with the proposed improvements. Halff Associates will quantify the hydraulic impacts of the proposed improvements and provide recommendations to the design team to lessen or mitigate impacts. These findings will be modeled and reported as defined in Contract Amendment #1. This excludes 404 Permitting and FEMA coordination. We request your signature below to confirm the scope and fee. If the scope and/or fee is not acceptable, please notify us immediately. If we do not receive notification of a change within ten (10) working days we will conclude that the scope and fee outlined above is acceptable and we will bill you accordingly when the work is completed.
