ATTN: Mr. Robert Sauceda, Project Manager
Fort Worth Water Department
City of Fort Worth
1000 fhrockmorton Street
Fort Worth, Texas 76102
RE• Submittal of Contract Amendment No. 2
Contract LXXXIV (84) Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation and Improvements Project
City Project No. 01503, City Secretary No. C-24754
RJN Group File No. 18250200
Mr. Sauceda:
Please find attached, Contract Amendment No. 2 to the Contract 84 Sanitary Sewer
Rehabilitation and Improvements Project This amendment request addresses the various City
review comments received on L-4252 (PACSD), L-5105 and M-214R in Elinor Street, as well as
to address additional ROW/easement needs at vai sous locations. More specifically, this
amendment addresses the following groups of tasks and items.
1) Project Management related cost impacts due to schedule adjustments from design and
easement changes effecting L-4252R; L-5105, M-214R and other back -easement sewer
lines. These changes impacted the Project Management Task (Subtasks: 1.2.2, 1.2.5, and
1.2.6) foi a total amount of $1.838 00 being requested.
2) Final Design cost impacts from repeated changes to the several viable design plans
submitted for L-5105. Numerous variations of viable design plans were presented and
requested to be changed that ultimately resulted in keeping the water line in place and moving
the sanitary sewer in order to create sufficient separation between the two lines to be able
construct the new upsized 10-inch sanitary sewer and not damage the existing water line.
This change impacted the Final Design Task (Subtasks: 4.2.E) for a total amount of
$3,580 00 being requested.
3) Survey and Final Design cost impacts from the authorized design change to extend the
M-214R line in Elinor St to the north approximvrtely 100 LF. RJN had to conduct
supplemental survey at $4.40/ LF (including 10% mark-up) for this extension; the cost to
process that survey and produce the modified design plan sheet. This change impacted the
Final Design Task (Subtasks: 4 2 F) and the Survey "Task (8 1.D) for a total amount of
$3,035.00 being requested.
4) Survey and Final Design cost unpacts from the requested changes by PACSD in site
ingress and egress for Springdale Park to remove and replace the existing MH at station
4+53 on L-4252R. RJN needs to conduct supplemental survey for the new park
ingress/egress access off of Barbell St. at a lump sum fee of $1,690.00 (including a IO%

mark-up); the cost to process that survey; produce the modified design plan sheet and
integrate PACSD standard construction details and specifications. This change impacted the
Final Design Task (Subtasks: 4.2.F) and the Survey Task (8.1.D) for a total amount of
$4,190.00 being requested.
5) Based on property research conducted by Spooner & Associates, it was discovered that
the upper portion of L-4252 was not covered by filed easement instruments
Additionally, it was discovered that the portion of M-214R from Selma Street to
Springdale Street is also not covered by valid easement instruments. Therefore
additional easement (both permanent (PUE's) and temporary (TCE's) instruments will need
to be prepared. A 10% markup is included in the cost numbers shown below.
a). For L-4252R, we need up to three (3) permanent utility easements (PUE's) at $1,210.00
per each and 3 temporary construction easements (TCE's) at $605.00 per each created for
a subtotal cost of $5,445.00. RJN also seeks an additional $1,080.00 in labor costs for
reviewing and administrating the production of these instruments for this location.
b). For M-214R, we need up to an additional three (3) PUE's at $1,210.00 per each to couple
with the existing 2 PUE s and up to five (5) temporary construction easements (TCE's) at
$605 00 per each created for a subtotal cost of $6,655.00. RJN also seeks an additional
$1 440 00 in labor costs for reviewing and administrating the production of these
instruments for this location
Therefore these changes impacted the ROW/Easement Task (Subtasks: 7.2.A for PUE's and
7.2.B for TCE's) for a total amount of $14,620.00 being requested
Contract Amendment No.2 costs are summarized in the table below:
